Anyone having any trouble getting Halo to work on your 360 using the VGA HD Cable? My xbox just wont run it, in any display resolution (from 640x480 to 1280x1024!) Is this a fault, or is it just my console? Any input from staff would be much appreciated! TIA, CraigD

Bungie is the best.

Simple as that.

Because the game doesnt support High-Def. Thats why, can only run on TV, soz to disappoint man.

I found this:

7. Will there be any benefit from running Xbox games on the Xbox 360?

Yes, ALL Xbox games will be able to run at 720p (1280x720) with full screen anti-aliasing (FSAA) on the Xbox 360

here

So why doesnt halo 1 support HD?

I know, considering Bungie and MS work really close together, you would think that Halo 1 would play in HD!

Come on Bungie guys, make an update!!!!!!!

How come? When on the official Xbox site it clearly states that ALL compatible games will run at 720p (1280x720) with full screen anti-aliasing (FSAA) on the Xbox 360, so why is Halo 1 any different?

I have had the same problem. From doing some research, it turns out the UK version of Halo runs at 50hz. Microsoft have set the VGA cable to output at 60hz, hence the reason it wont run. This also means you wont be able to update Halo2, as it reverts back to 50hz for the upload screen for some odd reason.

This has been been a major oversight of either Microsoft or Bungie. By the looks of things, only Americon games were tested with the VGA cable, so no-one knew this was going to happen. Hence the reason a lot of people went out and bought the VGA cable (and new monitors) to get teh best possible experience for the 360, only to find they had a heap of problems.

Ive logged a call at Microsoft about this, but as of yet havnt been called back. I suggest as many of you do the same, as it could be the only way to have this resolved. They dont seem to be listening.

If anyone at Bungie can shed any light on this problem, and could tell us if there will be a patch soon, it would be appretiated. Im loosing faith in Microsoft.

I have got a few numbers for MS tech support, which should i use? Ive got an 0800 (freephone), an 0845 (national) and another 0800.Which number did you use, or is there only one and ive got some weird other ones?

But, yeah, major oversight, not looking after European customers, could be bad for MS!!!

You know, ive just downloaded a demo "Feeding Frenzy" and because the UK VGA HD Cables run in 50Hz, they wont run the demo, as it needs to be @ 60Hz, although my monitors happily doing 85Hz or more! What is going on with the xbox? Theyre not thinking about European customers at all!
