Subject: New at Halo PC

If we are what we eat, then oh my God, we're cannibals.

Hello, fellow Halo PC gamers! I am going to get Halo PC as a gift today and just wanted advice, etc. about what I can, can't, and/or should do on Halo PC. I am currently an avid Halo 2 Xbox Gamer and I wanted to try something new; use the keyboard and mouse for once, instead of a controller.

My most important question is this: What key on my keyboard do I press in order to send my buddies messages? Like, you know, "Hey, what's up, join my party!" I wish I could use my Halo 2 Xbox Headset and plug that into my computer, but I feel there is no way for me do do that with my DELL.

I need advice, people.

T= Team Chat
Y= All
H= Vehicles

You can change these, and you don't want to start team killing or you might be banned. You also don't want to be running a trainer even if you're hosting because of the following ...

Host: If you are running a trainer, it works for you but not for the other players, otherwise, the infinite ammo cheat goes on and the clips are 0 and then they say "I can't shoot" "I can't reload"

Player: If you are running a trainer, you won't be able to get it to work because the host isn't running the trainer with the cheats.

Also, get Halo CE, it rocks!!!

There isn't a a buddy list in Halo PC so you'll need X-fire(look in my sig) to find your friends playing Halo PC. The chatting system explained above works with the player in that game. If your Xbox headset is like normal headsets it should plug into the headphone port on your computer.

Halo PC has lag so you have to lead your shots for them to hit. There is also no auto-aim, so coming from Xbox, be prepared to be frustrated. It takes practice to figure out leading your shots.

Listen for the hit register (beeping sounds) to tell you if your bullet actually hit the target. Always shoot where the target is moving towards. Everything you see on your screen is late information so take that into account when you aim at everything moving.

Don't play with slow internet, you will have lag, or a type of problem that makes the game all choppy online. Also, don't stay in the backround hiding because you will become as good as those people who can kill over 5 kills in 5 seconds.

Practice in the campaign so you can become a better player.

How is Halo PC online? Remember, I usually play on my Xbox on Live on Halo 2.

My mouse is sort of slow; I realized this as I completed the very first mission of Halo. Is there any advice you Halo PC guys can give me for better control of Master Chief when walking around hallways and corridors?

Using an Xbox Controller S is so much easier...

k hear are some hints if you do not want to be called a bad player...

1) Do not use fule, rockets, Ect. all the time you will be put down fast by other players.

2) The pistol and Sniper rifle are like your 2 best friends in the game; learn to use them well and you will be just about unstoppable.

3) As you probably know from halo 2 live using a hog to just run people over to get kills is not cool.

4) Flame throwers are cool and all but do not use them all the time or you will be put down by other players fast. Just like when u use fule rod and rockets a lot.

5) Keep a sharp eye out in the map cuz on a lot of people computer camo dose not show up as a wavy effect its more like a super hard to see clear lol. so watch your back and pay close attention but if your have a good computer and u do get the wavy effect pay no attention to this #5.

6) If you are hosting and you come across a jerk you do not want in your server this is how you ban.

first right click on your halo icon on your desk top then scrol down and click on properties

Now once a box pops up go to the target text box and copy this into it at the end of the per-set text.

-console

Make sure to put a space in-between the preset text and that in the end it should look like this:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe" -console

After you have done this you just host your own server. once you come across that random jerk all you have to do is hit this key

~

Then you enter in:

sv_kick (then players name exactly as they have it)

sv_ban (then players name exactly as they have it)

Then hit enter and the player should be ban or kicked out depending on witch one you do. The sv_kick juts kicks them out of your server and they can just log back in. the sv_ban kicks them from any of your servers for 24 hours.

Well, this is all I can tell ya for now but good luck.

ok heres answers to those questions:

How is Halo PC online?

well this can be taken 2 ways that i can think of, so i will answer both

one: just click on multiplayer and click internet in the join game area

two: it is LAGGY AS HELL. sry to disappoint... but we all can live with it. LEAD YOUR SHOTS. otherwise... the game pwns online.

theres no clan system, and theres no friends system... but this can be overcomed by XFIRE

this handy thing can enable friends lists, clans, auto patch dling, VOICE CHAT that im sure youre used to... all that stuff

My mouse is sort of slow; I realized this as I completed the very first mission of Halo. Is there any advice you Halo PC guys can give me for better control of Master Chief when walking around hallways and corridors?

tips:

if you have a ball mouse... scrap it and get an optical. if you can get a uber sensitive one like a razer or a logitech. look for 1600 dpi or more, anything less is pretty bad

if youve got an optical already... in the settings menu adjust the sensitivity in mouse settings. if at 10 its still not good enough (wasnt for me lol) get a mouse with 1600 dpi+ then prolly leave the sensitivity in halo about 3

remember: sensitivity in halos settings is how many degrees it turns per pixel scanned by the mouse, so if its on 10, headshots become harder. 3 makes nice smooth movement.

Yeah, I'm currently using my older computer, which has the ball on top, and both the mouse and entire computer system are, like, 4-5 years old. However, the laser "Microsoft" mouse would be really sweet for Halo PC. Excellent mobilitty on the laser mouse.

Also, my mom is buying me Halo PC today from BestBuy, as the copy of Halo PC I have currently is a burned copy of a burned copy of an original Halo PC game disc. I should be playing on the new Halo PC disc Thursday afternoon, Friday morning, etc.

Also, you should customize the controls to make it easier for you, and reload before you get into a battle, for example, you killed 6 grunts with 40 assault rifle bullets. You now have to reload before you go fight more so you won't have to reload in battles, and when your life is low, hide until your shield goes all the way up.

Look for games with the lowest ping count, as they usually have the least amount of lag... the more lag you have in a game the more you have to lead your shots. Even in a nil lag game you still have to lead your shots as the bullets DO take time to cover the distance to your target.
Technically in war and love anything goes... but nothing really beats going to the low of being a team killer (so if you are going to be one, you are lower than crap that's been dropped in hell)... besides it's fun blowing the crap out of a TK. That being said, don't shoot people to get their attention, and be very tolerant of being teamkilled (it could be accidental- so you don't want to start a TK war on your team- those just ruin games).

so if you find a weapons combo that you love go for it-

= here are some really good weapon combos;

Pistol and sniper- master these and you will be just mean

Pistol and Fuelrod cannon- this is a great anti vehicle set up and you can control significant portions of open areas from all incursions. just make sure to watch out for snipers and the occasional traveling rocket.

Rocket Launcher and Fuel Rod- Great for an initial assualt, but once things start getting tight you'll be wishing for another weapon (unless you don't care about ammo, suicide, or dying that much)

Shotgun and Plasma rifle- great for very close fighting, and for taking out flying vehicles (...), however beware of people with pistols and snipers at distance- if they are decent you will get screwed out in the open before you can close distance to be effective.

Pistol and Assault Rifle- just a nice all round combo- once ytou drop someones shields with the pistol you can lay into him with the AR, also remember the AR has a greater range than the pistol.

If you're going to use a vehicle, always keep it moving so you don't get sniped. if you're going to hog a banshee, use it to support your team, don't fly to the other base first thing without any support- experienced players will take it out in no time flat, so all you're doing is giving the opposing team another banshee. Another use for the banshee is Home base defense in CTF games- it helps to bring down opponents getting away in other vehicles, and if you die, it's there for your team to pick up.

Is it possible to create a 1-person multiplayer game? You can do that on the Xbox, but I am having difficulty doing it on Halo PC. Is that possible? I just want to explore the multiplayer maps before I go online and get owned because I don't know the maps.

It is Possible... Just Go to LAN and Start a game...

I also suggest you make a costume game type... With All Vehicles and turrets... and No starting grenades

By the way

Nade= Human Grenades

Plamsa Nade= plasma Grenade

Shotty= Shotgun

Rok(s)= Rocket Launcher

Rock Hog= Rocket Launcher Warthog

Hog= Warthog

Shee= Banshee

....I think that’s all the Halo related Slang’s... (Ignoring Noob, Owend..ect)

rl=rockets

Nade, can also mean just a regular grenade

Sticky, another name for plasma grenade

RL-Rocket Launcher
SG-Shotgun
AR- Assault rifle
SR-Snper
PR-Plasma rifle
FR-FuelRod
FT-Flamethrower

flamer,toaster, and etc are usually refering to the flamethrower

If somebody starts hogging a shee, don't complain.... (just learn how to kill them quick)

If we are what we eat, then oh my God, we're cannibals.

Guys, being from Halo 2, I know a bunch of slang terms. As a matter of fact, here's all of the slang Halo (2) terms I know:

Nades (Human)
Stickies (Covenant)
Rocks
Shotty
Banshee
Ghost
Hog (machine-gun)
Rocket Hog
Snipes (human; remember that in Halo 2, there's a Covenant sniper rifle)
Flamer (new for me)

If anybody sends me a message about a "shee" or multiple "shees," I'm going to message then back, asking what the hell they mean, because I'm used to hearing the full word Banshee.

By the way, is a flamethrower used anything like a shotgun? Remember, I've never seen or used one before.

The flamethrower is indeed pretty cheap! It is better then a shotgun because you can bounce it around corners and also the flames stick to you with a napalm affect, so even if you die you still have a chance of killing the person who killed you because the flames stick to the people!

i woudl advise that you go and download custom edition, because everyone on the normal Halo onlien servers has aimbots, and hacks, plus not alot of ppl know about Custom, so there are rarely and hackers or cheaters

I've never come across a cheater in Halo PC. I've been accused of cheating a lot though. My brother was playing it yesterday and got over a hundred kills and 15 deaths (BG CTF) because he's good at LEADING SHOTS with a pistol.

Learn how to backpack reload, quick camo, telecamp (LOL), teleblock, double melee, most importantly strafe and use cover behind hills, trees, Warthogs, etc. Know the maps and just practice LEADING SHOTS. That's the most important thing to master in Halo PC. LEAD. LEAD. LEAD. LEAD. LEAD and shoot until you hear a beep (hit register)

  • 01.25.2006 3:48 PM PDT

If we are what we eat, then oh my God, we're cannibals.

What do the initials BG CTF stand for?

Also, how do you:
Backpack reload
Quick camo
Get infinite ammo
Get invincibility

Blood gulch Capture the flag..

The rest is cheating, and you would need some sort of program that modifies the game.
