Sounds cool to me, has this been discussed before? I think it would be as humiliating as getting your neck snapped in pandora tomorrow over xbox live only you would get a nice little cutscene of them pushing you out n stuff.

PS: Dont flame me if they said it wouldnt be in the multiplayer already or flame me saying it wouldnt be possible

PPS: When is E3 again?!?!?! exact date i keep forgetting!! (plz dont flame again)

yes, it will be in MP and E3 starts on May 12.

Hijacking a ride in MP in my mind will come to be as nefarious as the ol' wack to the back of the head in Halo. There was always a big commotion during a LAN party anytime someone suddenly 'fainted' unsuspectingly, and I can only imagine that hijacking someones vehicle will gain that same aura.

I'm excited about the fact that there will be more then one way to board. In the OXM Halo 2 article it talks about how different sized rides will have a varying number of hijack points from which you will be able to mount and remove the current driver. No more getting mowed down by that freakin tank while the moron with horrible aim reloads...

Or speeding up, the momentum in reality would tear them off the vehicle.

I dont see how this will work in the multiplayer, bungie cant make it to easy or vehicles will become useless unless used at range which defeats the purpose of the warthog and ghost. But, I dont see how they could make it hard.

From what I read in OXM it won't be easy. The vehicle that you are trying to jack will have to be flying slow enough to 'safely' board, or else you'll be road kill. So basically you'll have to coax the driver into pulling a stupid move causing them to lose any momentum and leave them open to a hijacking.

a few ways to get them off that would be fair i think...

1. Would need to gain speed
2. Lighting quick reflexes, like the SECOND you see them get on you start hammering the R button and if you do it right you pull out a pistol or something and shoot him and kill or knock him off or slam the L button and you throw a nade and if the guy with the nade on him hammers HIS R button or whatever button he suicidally jumps onto the pilot and they both die. So it would have certain counter measures and stuff. So it would be a nice commotion hearing "OH HA HA HA IM ON YOUR GHOST D00D!!! lol you are so....WTF!?!??! NO NOT A STICKY GRENADE AHH!!! MUST HIT A BUTTON!!!!! OH NO *boooooom!!!!*" lol
3. Make a sudden turn or jump

by the way they are saying you get up close to a vehicle and press X to hijack, i dont think thats how you do it. I think the way you do it or SHOULD is you hit the jump button or something. If they made it X then if you hit it too soon you would reload or whatever. Also notice that in the E3 demo when the ghost is coming he crouches, slowly walks backwards, then at a split second before you see the cinematic begin of hijack, he rises off the ground a little as if he jumped and it went straight into a cutscene or something.

PS: was that E3 demo a real level in the game? if not i think it would be cool to release it as downloadable content (which im almost positive they will have) but tune it up with all the new features of Halo 2 (the hud, animations, since we all know that most thigns were scripted in that level)

PPS: I hope they release more than just MP maps on downloadable content
