I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.
Also I earned the All Star nameplate with this submission to Week 14 All Stars http://www.bungie.net/images/News/Inline11/bwu_0415/art/likea boss.jpg

I am slightly disappointed that Bungie only placed the Mark V [B] helmet in the game instead of a full suit.
Though there are some slight exceptions.
The special pre-order chest from Gamestop (the UA-Multi Threat) is infact Mark V [B].

So we have a helmet and chest piece.

Now in the Beta, the FJ/Para shoulders were labeled Mark V [B]. Why would Bungie change the name of the armor?
In a way I still consider those shoulder pieces Mk. V [B]. In a way, they look like shortened standard Mark V shoulders.

Does anybody agree with me?

All "basic" armour in game in Mk V[B].

We know Mk V[B] is issued to Special warfare Group 3.
Issuing the helmet to 3 memebers is not "issue" gear, so much as "custom gear". therefore the armour we see is Mk V[B] and not Mk V at all. If it were Mk V, then most of NOBLE wouldn't have any MK V[B].

What 3 members? and Mark V[B] so far has just been seen as a helmet, not a full armor set. Unless someone from Bungie/343 states otherwise it should be left like that, a simple helmet.

Yep, it's a helm permutation, not the armor suit.

I mean, it's common sense, if every helmet was an entirely different armor then there would be shoulders and torso for the Rogue and other armors that have just helmets.

Six, Seven and Thom all use Mark V[B].

components of the [B] variant were issued exclusively to members of SPECWAR Group Three, where it served as the default Spartan armor.
Either the armour is all Mark V[B], seeing as it is a radical change from the design on the Mark V we have seen up to Reach, OR the above statement in Reach is false. It cannot be both.

Seven? And the Mark V in Reach is a graphically updated version of the armor in CE....

Noble Seven is non-canon toy.

Um, or it's simply called advanced in graphics.

The Warthog in Reach isn't a completely different model from the one in CE is it?

Please explain where the logic would be in developing an entirely new suit of Mark V, which is not the same as the base one.

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

Original Mark V Look at the torso, same as in Reach minus the knife.

Taken from "The Art of Halo 3" again, see the torso, same as the Mark V in Reach.

Our beloved Six wearing the Mark V in Reach

They are the same armor, just graphically updated from CE.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

MARK V[B] is only a helmet, not a full MJLNIR suit.

The real disappointed to me was that they made it so you can't have the sun visor alone without the UA attached to it like you could in the Beta.

Welcome to bungie, you have no rights. play nice!
CLICK!

I don't know why Bungie just simply let us choose the attachments we wanted instead of that little list. What were you thinking again?

He is right, but since the Mark V[B] torso comes with a pre-order at gamestop, GAME and other select retailers, not much people know about it.

Even then, it's simply an additional plate over your stomach area, changes nothing else about the chest piece.

Indeed, it would just be an up armored version of the default Mark V chest. Actually, that's what the Mark V[B] is, because if I recall correctly, it has UA in its name.

It says it's Mark V [B]. I'd say that the UA part is the grenade belt as that seems more of a accessory

  • 05.13.2011 9:43 AM PDT

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

UA means Up Armored, grenades won't give you armored protection, so no, the piece below the chest is the UA with the grenades being just there for aesthetics.
