I hope it won't take a court order to settle Halo PC issues. The number I found for Bungie (312)-255-9600 is being "checked for trouble" according to the recording on the line. If my lawyer can't contact Bungie directly then I guess he'll have to go through Microsoft. You're all in the same general area anyway, aren't you? I'd like a contact phone number, please.

I wonder how many times I'll have to point this out.

You broke a rule. The rule YOU broke is one that's monitored automatically by servers. You got busted for it. You have no legal case. Perhaps if you weren't so reactionary (as you yourself admitted with mention of ulcers and panic attacks), this wouldn't have happened.

My advice is that perhaps you are not able to handle the stress of online gaming. Perhaps you should seek another avenue of entertainment. I'm sure you're going to write this off as Bungie shrugging of its community (as Mr B so loves to do), but I'm saying this out of concern regarding the health problems you've admitted to having.

There is nothing in the agreement you accepted when you installed Halo PC that claims that Bungie will enforce rules regarding etiquette on Halo PC online, and there's a good reason; it would take an army to enforce such a policy. What has been pointed out is that the Bungie HPC servers are unmonitored, and generally are offered "As-is."

Bungie could solve the TK issue with software.

Also, I noticed you have an email link for reporting Halo2 cheaters, where is the email link to report Halo PC/Mac cheaters?

the story behind the link for halo 2 cheaters: they can do something about halo 2 cheaters.

simply, halo PC is old stuff, and nodzwhatever, yes, halo 2 is not considered old... because it isnt old.

i tend to agree with shishka... if your reactions cause you to reach for legal assistance toward a company that you have no case... and you have ulcers and panic attacks... i dont think you can handle this game.

i can imagine a judge laughing out loud when you say "i want to sue this company because i was auto-team-kill banned from their server."

just go. leave us alone. i think that you and all of us would be better off without you

Sue them over "denial of service" go get them Node. Don't listen to these immature guys who are just looking to troll.

Bungie needs to add a voting system to kick TKers. Simple as that. Everytime some asswipe runs around tking, this is a denial of service to all those players.

Well here it is...good luck, I don't think you can make a case in light of this EULA:

2. MULTIPLAYER PLAY. This SOFTWARE PRODUCT may contain features that allow you to play the SOFTWARE PRODUCT with other players over a network or the Internet (“Multiplayer Play”). By using such features or otherwise engaging in Multiplayer Play, you agree that Microsoft or its agents may generate, store and transmit certain information that identifies your COMPUTER to other computers for purposes of Multiplayer Play. You also agree that the SOFTWARE PRODUCT may continue to generate, store and transmit such game information as necessary while engaged in Multiplayer Play. You agree that Multiplayer Play is not supervised or otherwise under the control of Microsoft or its agents. You acknowledge and agree that Microsoft and its agents have no control over or responsibility for your experience while engaged in Multiplayer Play, or any content or other information or data you may create, encounter or receive, including chat, while you are engaged in Multiplayer Play. You acknowledge and agree that Multiplayer Play may not be consistently available or operate error free, and that Multiplayer Play may be discontinued by Microsoft or its agents at any time without notice to you.

soooo....it looks like they could shut it down today and nobody can do a thing...

Whatever...I'm going to keep playing like I do, but the bottom line is that Bungie knows what needs fixing and they won't do it.

Why are you all -blam!-ing at Nodez? If he wants to try it, why don't you frekin let him... does it harm you in any way? No. Does it harm Fluffy your favorite pet cat in any way? No.

I personally don't have the time nor the resources to do it, but I'll be damned if I didn't do it when i had them.

Does he stand much of a chance? No, I know that, and I'm sure he knows that too... but at least he's doing SOMETHING. Writing pieces of text on a forum that isn't even read by the "people in charge" isn't going to do anything about it.

the reason i think he shouldnt do it is it taints the pc's community's reputation. if i were a video game dev and they kept begging me for a new game, then sued me because of the old game, i wouldnt want to support them.

i mean, what company supports a group of people that tries to sue over petty issues.

this is as bad as the mcdonalds lawsuit over the spilled coffee...

there should be a law saying that before you can file a lawsuit legitimacy must be ascertained.

seriously... people ruin companies' and their own reputations by suing for stupid things. if you sue for an auto-tk ban it will be the most ridiculous thing ever. if you absolutely believe that a game must be supported, go buy an xbox and halo 2, and play that. that game has support.

companies do not support old products. thats just the way things are. and if you dont like it, move to haiti. then move back. you will appreciate everything you have here.

I've read all of the posts and i'm siding with the moderator and everyone that agrees with him. I myself have gotton autobaned for tking when i started playing because i didnt realize it was a team game. I simply shruged it off and played another server. If i do get autobaned on a server I like I email the admin and tell him my case. They tell a lot of the time if your being truely sencere and will unban.
Next bungie gives pretty good suport for their games, but I've learned to ask people on forums for help and then pass that help around. Saves bungie work and helps everyone. Also an update for halo would be hard. Think about it Halo PC already has a feature people with Halo for xbox and dont have Halo 2 wish they have. Its hard for bungie to update a game thats older on the system than it is on the comp.
I feel for you man but just roll with the punches and play on a different server if you need to.

When I tried to start a movement against tker's, "lawsuits" did not come to mind. I'm sorry n0d3, but this just seems a little too drastic for a video game.

Anyways, this can't help your ulcers or whatever. Think of the guy who died from a heart attack; he was playing 50 hrs of games straight.

...Most of you know me as that random guy who pops around The Maw. Sometimes, I post because its necessary, other times, I post because I want to help. But when I don't post, there's always a reason. This time, it's because I don't see a reason to.

But since this is the third day I've seen this post up, I feel obligated to say something.

Do what you wish. Nothing will change. Bungie won't shut these servers down anytime soon, nor will they improve upon the game or the ban system on their servers.

Hi...sorry but Halo PC has been updated at least 6 times already. It is easy for them to update the game. BTW, Halo PC is not old. It actually came out 2 years AFTER Halo on the Xbox. So if M$ can support Halo Xbox, they should support Halo PC.

Seriously, all that Bungie needs to do is update the game so that the TK tally does not reset when you exit the game, but after a period of time, like 6 hours. That would virtually solve the problem of TKers entirely.

Dude, you should do whatever you need to do. It's been the same story for years with this game. Shame on Bungie for not addressing a glaring problem with one of their games.

Nick, I noticed at your website you list a bunch of TKers...well the last guy, "TK Police" is not a TKer by any means. That guy is an old school player, and one of the best around.

I've also played with "ME Emo" and seen zero tking from him also.

Thanks for the heads up about TK Police.

When i say "many variations of his name" for (ME)=KING, i meant just for king. This does not include the other (ME) people. It wasn't always (ME)=KING ya know.

If you mean ME KING has had other names, yes, I remember he was just "ME" for quite a long time before adding the KING. Personally I've always thought that ME and Roboto are the same person as well. Roy DeMeo may also be this person, I dunno...either way those guys suck.

I ran into Roy tonight on the Bungie CTF servers and he was of couse tking 3 times, then quiting. Classic exploit in an otherwise amazing game. Anyway, I messed with him for awhile then left to find another server. So many people were just like "wtf is your problem" I felt sorry for them that they didn't realize Halo MP has this problem. In fact, lots of newbies on the Bungie servers tonight. Which i guess is a good thing for the most part. Tough when you get 2 or 3 good players on one team and a bunch of noobs on another...makes for some bad bad bad games.

It's a video game....I mean I know tkers can be really really annoying but maybe you should just be more laid-back and not worry about it so much...when something like that happens to me I just go to a messed up server and randomly dance around and fly in shees and stuff. Just have fun, that's the point of the game.
