I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.
Also I earned the All Star nameplate with this submission to Week 14 All Stars http://www.bungie.net/images/News/Inline11/bwu_0415/art/likea boss.jpg

Does anybody else besides me believe that the UNSC had armored trains?
I'm about to design one, just need your opinions

They wouldn't need armoured trains, the Pelican takes care of that.

What in the Hell for?

trains have always been a major part of war and business so im sure that railroads would still be around in the future with improved locomotives and would be important in the insurection war but probably not in the covy war since whole planets were being glassed the railroads probably wouldnt help exept in getting people to evacuation points

To be honest, when I first saw all this in the weekly update I thought 2 things.
#1- there is an actual legendary ending but,
#2- No matter what anyone does,(kill all the bobs, hit all switches etc) that until the "time" mentioned in "There'll be another time..." is reached there won't be a legendary ending.

The weekly update by bungie has slowed my hardcore search for what unlocks the legendary ending.

Agreed. One of the first targets of the covenant in the First battle of Earth was the Liwitoni Station, (remember Terminal from halo 2?) So why have armored trains if they can just get destroyed by a scarab or something.

my guess is that they are more like mono rails or something and not train traci trains.

I'm guessing that there were armored trains but they could have acted as quick troop/vehicle transport or even just a portable HQ. I'm guessing that it could be possible the train could have special wheels so it could go off the tracks, but it's more meant for the tracks.

Any train in the 26th century would be a maglev, and thus not have wheels. They also require a rail to function.

Forgot about the demon anti-tank train in Halo 2.

Trains would definitely have their uses, although their reliability, like all UNSC vehicles to get the job done in terms of transport is seriously questionable.

e.g. the way pelicans frequently seem to crash in the halo series.

OT: Although it is disputed that trains may or may not of been used in the halo saga, my question is why aren't modern navy vessels used, mainly the submarine.

e.g. a submarine can go deep underwater, would the covenant have a means of dispatching these vessels? and then there's also the possibility of nuclear subs etc. which in effect could of proven to be a nightmare for the covenant...

That train sent me flying in a scorpion tank all the way across the map once...
