Personally, I'm an avid fan of the ODST's. I think they're way cooler than Spartans. More effective? They've both got the Pro's & Cons, but Spartans are (Obviously) better in a fight. But who cares? ODST's redefine badarse.

So, lets fast forward many years into the future, technology has advanced, and (Only a Geek like me would dream this) the ODST's SOEIV Pods have been made, and are used for special operations and what not.

You've been lucky enough to par-take in a Drop. It's just a simulation, but totally recreational. Lets ignore the prices.. Would you do it?

Don't just click the Yes button. You need to take into account several things:
- Will you survive?
- What if you Pods burns up in Atmosphere?
- What if the blood rushes to your head and you pass out?
- What if the wind gets a bite on your pod and blows it off course?
- Etc.

You'd have to take into account these things, as well as sign a waver saying you, and your family, wont press charges if anything bad happens.

So... Would you do it?

Semper Fi

NASA is working on something similar to the SOEIV pods.

On Topic: I would do it without thinking about the consequences

rule of thumb: double tap

the drop pods never burn up in the atmoshphere, they are to heavy to be blown of course by anthing smaller then a hurricane and they teach the odsts a technique to keep them from passing out

心の中に弱い風が吹いています。

Even with the what-if's you mentioned. You have to agree that it will be the biggest thrill ever...

In the books, (Ghosts of Onix, if I recall correctly) the actual Pods didn't burn up, no, but the heat on the inside practically boiled the ODST, hence why they have the name "Hell Jumpers".

The Pods can be blown off course. Maybe a tad bit, but only a few feet of course could make the distance between a safe landing, and an improper, possibly fatal landing.

...You're not an ODST, so,... You wouldn't know the technique to not passing out. I clearly stated that you are a citizen doing an ODST drop pod for fun. lrn2read. Durr.. >.>

Hence, why I'd do it without question or hesitation. (AdrenalineJunkie)

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Well, I want to be an Army Paratrooper and dropping in a drop pod would just be a more futurisic and larger scale version of that...so, hell yes.

Think before you post

Nah, i think id stick to skydiving, for my thrills, i think skydiving would be more intense than sitting in a drop pod anyways

A fair argument. :3 At least in sky diving, you get to look straight down as you fall, rather than out the little window.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

I'm terrified of heights. Even simulated heights.

That's reason you joined the UNSC, you'd risk your life for the mission.

i remember watching in halo legends that one time the ODST's were landing and one guy unfortunately landed in like a swamp thingy and was drowning in his pod because he wouldnt be able to get out, but then a spartan came and pulled him out in like 5 secs.

on topic: if i were to do this i may need some drug or somethin like adrenaline or somethin similar to get me through it
