I don't know why anyone ever thought it was a game to begin with.

The wording of the trademark posting led me to lean in that direction:

Computer game software downloadable from a global computer network; Computer game software for personal computers and home video game consoles; Computer game software for use on mobile and cellular phones; Computer software, namely, game engine software for video game development and operation; Interactive game software; Video game software

"That's about all that can be said for plots, which anyway are just one thing after another, a what and a what and a what.

Now try how and why."

I can actually think of two possible reasons.

First, it could perhaps be the beginnings of the next ARG. I'm going to look through Delaware corporation law to see if anything would potentially serve as an asset.

Second, I have an odd feeling of it being, in some way, a sort of legal security to protect their IP from being possessed by Activision. I have no idea how this would work, but I can imagine that they don't want to be deprived of anymore properties after losing Myth, Oni, and Halo. Really, I have nothing to base this on, so discard it.

The Joyeuse IP Formula

Any characters (or any aspect of an ARG in general) of an ARG don't claim to be directly from Bungie. So I doubt that Bungie Aerospace is part of an ARG, and I doubt that the company would get an entirely new corporation just for an ARG.

Besides, part of the Activision/Bungie partnership specifically allows Bungie to keep the creative rights to whatever they make.

There are a few reason why many companies decide to incorporate here.

Sarcasm.
I saw it.

Interesting, I though it would be a new game engine, but that looks unlikely now.

Although saying that, why would Bungie need a splinter company?

Maybe it is just liscensing for their new game engine.
I doubt they need to create an entire new corporation just to license a game engine.
"Need", no. But it's not a bad idea.

It would be insightful to find out how Valve and Steam are set up, legally. Anyone have any idea? It might help us start looking in the right direction for Aerospace.

Not to rain on your parade, but why would anyone want to use their engine?
The Reach engine is today one of teh worst, since it takes loads of resources, has massive frame drop, but still only offer decent graphics and bad lightning etc (compare to Crysis, Gears 3).

Still, they might have gone forward and taken their MMO idea to the next level. Micro-management via the mobile, full blown gaming via smartphone, console and/or PC.
Could be epic, or just the matrix/skynet ^^

I'd hate to rain on your rain, but who ever said that it's an existing engine that the public knows about? Hell, we don't even know if it's an engine.

It's obviously something worth setting up a corporation for.

Somewhere out there... in an alternate reality... Marty decided to stay in the ad jingle business, bringing about an age of amazingly orchestrated Pampers commercials.

"Aerospace" - Bungie is finally creating the device to bring them to world domination. It is half aircraft (hence "aero"), half spacecraft (hence "space"). It will literally hang, half-on-each-side on the border of space.

My uncle's dog walker's husband knows a guy who works at Bungie. I'd know.

It would be insightful to find out how Valve and Steam are set up, legally. Anyone have any idea? It might help us start looking in the right direction for Aerospace.
From a quick glance at Steampowered.com and the related copyright disclaimer at the bottom and the terms of use, it looks like Steam is run from Valve Corporation. Looking up "valve" on that Washington Sec'y of State website returns some 37 results (for obvious reasons), none of which (other than Valve Corp.) appeared related to the Valve we know and love. So it looks like they only have the one entity.

However, it should go without saying that just because Valve does it that way does not mean that is the only way to do it. And of course we have no idea that whatever Aerospace is parallels Steam in any way, either.

Oh, of course the way Valve does it isn't the only way to do things. I just figured that maybe Bungie may follow the same legal protocol for a project like Steam Community/Engine.

I once heard an old man say " Years ago, i sold my trumpet for something to eat, and know i know it would be better to die of hunger."

I upload a ton of Halo clips on my YouTube channel, feel free to subscribe.

No silly, its now a way of life.

Revisited this site sober, I totally get it now. Seems like this could be interesting. Hopefully it won't be another Bungie West.

What does it mean????

Another Bungie corp? I smell money laundering/monopolies in the making...

Just kidding, but seriously, as Hylebos said, WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

I don't know, but from the sound of "Dead Orbit" it sounds like this new IP may have a futuristic universe rather than a fantasy/medevial-era one (think WoW), which makes me happy. IMO, swords and spells = lame; guns and explosions = awesome.

Personally I kinda prefer a mixture of the two. A space ship with random fire jets coming out the back bores me, something heavily mechanical with exposed gears, steam, and moving parts is much cooler.

Anyways, OP updated and tweeted.
