Spartan II or a Jedi/Sith. Who do you think would win this one on one battle. Spartan II has his/her assualt rifle, battle rifle, two frag grenades, and MJOLNIR armor. Jedi/Sith has his/her lightsaber, robe, and of course, the force. The jedi/Sith is as strong as Obi-Wan Kenobi.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die.

Cheat? How would a Jedi cheat, or rather, would he need to?

That doesn't work, three words: Havoc Tactical Nuke

Somebody didn't read the OP.

The OP's BS. Obviously a Spartan doesn't stand a chance aginst the Jedi-wizards and their magic, so I levelled the playing field, literally in the case of the nuke.

If he's as strong as Obi-Wan, then the Spartan. Obi-Wan is an outrageous sword dueler for a Jedi (being a Guardian) and would likely walk all up and down the Arbiter in a CQB. But at range, he's less so, especially since blocking a bullet is not the same as blocking a bolt of plasma.

Yes I'm fairly young. No, that doesn't mean I'm automatically dumber than you or have less life experience, thats just generally the case. I am not your general case.

^ This is the exact problem with this duel. How can someone who is constrained by the laws of physics and reality fight someone who is not?

  • 05.09.2011 1:56 PM PDT

not sure, force can be pretty advantageous but spartans do have other gadgets on their sides as well.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

It's hard to say how bullets would interact with lightsabers. Lightsabers are solid, so a molten bullet wouldn't come out the other end. And in any case it's likely the bullet would be simply vaporized. I'm going to say that the Jedi would win since Force enhanced physical abilities would help close the gap, and then it would just be a hack n slash event.

Exactly, if the gadget = tactical nuclear weapons.

I know; believe me, I'm a big Wars fan, I know. But would that be Obi-Wan's first thought? Assuming neither of them know anything about the other, A Jedi would be ignorant of a Spartan's strength and agility, and the Spartan likewise of the Jedi's powers. Thing though is, Spartans are expert tacticians and are basically super ninjas. If they realise that this guy is a psychic, then they'll change tactics.

And before you say that the Force could tell the Jedi where the Spartan was, they're not perfect. The Force gives the weilder a combative edge, not invunerability. Jedi have a long history of being fooled.

Look at Anton from KotoR II, he killed Jedi for a living and he was only human. He said once you figure them out, its actually quite easy to fool them.

And Obi-Wan was, while a primary character, was no more powerful then any other Jedi Guardian class. Guardians focus less on Force training and more on Lightsaber training; Counselers are the opposite.

And all in all, if Obi-Wan tried to hack him to death with the lightsaber, he'd still first have to get past the shield AND the Spartan's strength and speed. A lot of Wars defenders have a tendency to make out Jedi/Sith as if they were demi-gods, as if they were ALL Starkiller. They were not. They were still human (or whatever race they were).

The Spartan has the advantage of the MJOLNIR armor which gives him full battlefield details, superior strength, energy shields, reaction speed of aproximately .02--give or take--seconds and superior accuracy. Coulpled with ranged weapons you'd have to be foolish to try and block with a lightsaber.

Obi-Wan (who this effectively amounts too) has the Force. And being a Guardian, the Force is his last thought. He'd try and get in close, while getting pummled by bullets, with no armor, and would likely get the saber ripped out of his hands if he did take a swing.

MJOLNIR's touch...but it can't withstand a lightsaber nor a sith lord wielding it

If lighstaber blades were solid, they'd create a shadow effect on the surface behind them. They do not.

Because they're made of plasma suspended in a containment field. That field will stop things traveling through. Even if it didn't it's likely that the bullet would just vaporize.

But deflecting bullets probably wouldn't be a priority since that would mean they'd just be standing there letting themselves get shot at, which they wouldn't. A Jedi or Sith would be avoid a confrontation with the projectiles altogether. Instead it's more likely that they would see the weapon and either rip it out of the Spartans hands (not likely with the Spartan strength), crush the weapon with the Force, or simply Force push the Spartan onto the ground to give for a moment of advantage. Or the Sith would simply Force lightning the Spartan to drop the shields and send them running for cover if they're not already there.

This is a one on one, no other assests but the combatants.

And another thing: Jedi like Kenobi got cut down by Clones and Droids all the time, more so Clones. Regular humans. Given training since childhood, yes, but with less advanced armor and bio-enchancements (if at all). Difference? Bullets are harder to see then plasma, but have the same effect on the human body (relative to the Star Wars universe that is).

Alright fine:

The first Spartan, seeing some weirdo in a robe swinging around a green fluorescent light, decides to shoot first and ask questions later. He proceeded to fire a 14.5mm anti-material round at it's head.

The Jedi's spidey-senses have barely begun to tingle when the round smacks into him with enough force to obliterate his head and most of his upper torso.
