Subject: Questions About Warthog Gunners

Main questions:

How does the gunner's feet stay on the turret (magnetic boots perhaps- just throwing out an idea)?

How does the gunner stay on the Warthog in general? Wouldn't he/she fly off if the hog is moving around a lot?

If you look at the baseplate that the turret is mounted on, you'll notice there are foot-shaped depressions. The gunner places his feet in these.

The novels also state that there is a strap that goes around the back of the gunner and holds him in place. It's not in the games because the animation of getting in and out would take too long.

Thanks! That explains a lot. I'll have to read more Halo books.

I always thought it was because they had magnetic boots. Strap is much more plausible.

Also not to mention the strap going through different sets of armor, or and graphical bugs that are very common among straps since they're tough to work with. (example: no Guitar Hero or Rock Band games have straps for the guitar)

"Ignorance is a plague."

Close, but the plague killed those infected with it, and the ignorant are still alive.
I wish ignorance was a plague.

I think that with magnetic boots alone, there would be many broken ankles and legs.

"Concise and devoid of elegance...what I have come to expect from human communication"-Endless Summer

I remember in ODST there were a few mentions of Marines who got a "whiplash" effect on their ankles. Spartans probably don't have that problem(Locked Armor).
