Subject: how does xbox connect work?

This is a Reach account that I created the day they announced his name in a bnet weekly update. Any stats regarding ODST or Halo 3 are irrelevant. Also, Halo CE master race. Halo 1 > other halo games > other games.

Account Status: Silver :(

Do you have to plug your laptop into your xbox? I don't get it.

Halo 2 for Life!

Everyone says it's easy... I suck with computers... I'm unable to do it... Also I have low motivation to do so as I've heard it is not equal or close to equal to the XBL experince I'm use to when play MP halo 2(i.e. BTB is almost non-existence which I almost played excluisevly).

Alright thanks for the help. How about Halo 2 Vista? Is that any better? I keep hearing it's a lot worse than the console version, but I'm interested in playing some Halo 2 online again.

You can do it wired or wireless. It can be done with a router, hub or only a modem but there's a different method in each way. RogueWolf has a section on that as long as you have a network interface card.

Halo 2 for Life!

Vista is probably your best bet for simplicity sake and fun sake.

Ok, but how is the matchmaking. I keep hearing that it's broken, but I don't know to what extent it is an exaggeration.

It's best to ask those questions to the forum devoted to PC halo 2 and halo ce. I'm going off of what I've learned through talking to others.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

It blows on PC because it is a console game. Not a PC game.

The only problem for the diehards, though, is it uses a list.

But still nobody has answered the question, which I am interested in as well.

Can xbox connect work if you just plug your laptop into your xbox?

Arrogant hyperbolic exclamations of woe? Seems like a normal day for Halo/Bungie.net.

No.

I have my Slim connected to a wireless network while my PC is connected to the same network via LAN. It works. Pretty easy to set up (I didn't have to set up stuff anyway) if you ask me.

Yes, but only if you config it correctly.

And what must you do to do that. Is there a video for configuring if you just have your xbox plugged into your laptop?

XBC is as good as this, plus it's dead.

Use kai instead, it's where most of the h2 players are at.

Look at D and E here, is that what you want? It's for wired and wireless.

XBC is dead. Kai has 200+ people, while XBC has only 20-30.

k and I'm not gonna bother installing it if there are only 30 people online. I gotta get working on my custom Reach maps anyways.

Really? Ive never even heard of the other one. I only know of people playing on XBC. I dont see how it could be dead? That seems to be the popular one.

How many are on now? Also, which one has all the latino servers that people gripe about?

This is actually the stupidest thing ever posted on B.net:

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

Seriously man don't even bother with XBC or Kai, both are trash and filled with laggy connections by playes who are still living in the 2006 and 2007 MLG days.

The best alternative to Halo 2 Xbox is, sadly, Halo 2 Vista. You just can't run it on any crap PC, so make sure your PC can handle it before even thinking about picking it up.

You can just plug in your Xbox 360 wired controller and play. The servers are dead on most weekdays and the player population is very small, but it is your best option if you want to relive some of that Halo 2 magic.

1. All 3 do, with H2V moving toward latino servers fast.
2. Xlink Kai is really the popular one, it also has a lot of PSP players. In fact, new wi-fi cards have a PSP Xlink mode. Do they have a XBC mode? Nope.avi.
3. Xlink Kai is free, while XBC has a paid version and a crippled free version.

You sound like your really trying to promote this Xlink Kai, while everyone else talks about xbox connect. Not sure why. If it is so good, then how come nobody talks about it?
