Post your results! (And where you tested from and where you are.) Do a couple tests to find your mean connection quality.
I see a lot of people posting their Speedtest.net results when they insist that their connection is better than another or why they shouldn't be having an unfavourable experience in the game due to lag.
Speedtest.net doesn't say anything about the quality of your connection. Halo needs maybe 0.5mbps up and down to host a game of TS. It is the quality of the connection that determines whether packets are lost/bullets don't register and the cause of most the game's WTF moments. It also determines who gets host and who doesn't according to many sources, and according to logic.
If we're more aware of our connections we can make Halo 3 a better experience for all.
My results:
Download speed 5249 Kbps
Upload speed 1946 Kbps
D/load COS 95 %
U/load COS 99 %
RTT 96 ms
RTT Consistency 95 %
Max Delay 83 ms
Avg Delay 4 ms
Max Bandwidth 30400 Kbps
Route Speed 5461 Kbps
Forced Idle 82 %
Route Conc 5.7
(I have my upload and download capped with the quality of service settings on my router. My raw speeds are 30mbps down, 3mbps up. I keep them capped so they don't spike my ping.)
Note: You must have Java installed to conduct the test.
Thanks!
Oh I'm in Southwestern Ontario and I got my results by polling a server in Washington State.
