Yet pixels on a screen are just that, they have no real importance, none that matters anyway.Pixels are pointless?
Well -blam!-, take us back to 1911 then and let's stop old Boris from inventing the first CRT display!! Ohhhh wait.. Pixels are amazingly important. Everything digital is made from pixels.. Well all raster displays anyway..
Games are a release, yes. Video games are ultimitaly pointless, yes. But also, so is life. I mean if we really want to strip everything down to simple form. Here is life: Born, live, die. That's it. We can do with our time whatever we want! Regardless of what we do, it's all ultimately pointless, as once we have died, all that we did was for no reason, really.
I am going to quote an active forum user right now, because what he said, really stuck out. I don't agree with playing Halo all my life, but that's what I don't agree with.
Everything is ultimately pointless since we're all going to die eventually.
However, something can't be pointless if you are enjoying yourself while participating in the aforementioned, allegedly pointless activity, IMO....please understand that enjoyment is subjective, and don't condemn various forms of it as inferior to anything else. people can live the way they want and enjoy themselves as they please, and if they are successfully doing so, they aren't living a pointless life.life is about doing what you want to do. or else what is the point of living? If I wanted to play Halo for the rest of my life, than so be it. I'd die knowing I did what I wanted to do.

Those above three posts are perfect. Everything is ultimately pointless, but if someone wants to play Halo/Games all their life, then they can. It's a waste in my eyes, but it's not my life to judge.
Anyway we're way off topic here. Nice discussion though.
