Problem with the "Catching lightsaber blade between prongs."
A: That's a very small opening.
B: Once completed, the chance of them simply slamming the blade down quickly into the wider section, and slicing through your hand and the hilt, is high.
C: The person using the lightsaber can quickly turn off the blade, then reactivate it after the twisting motion, and use the opening that it gives them.[/quote]
I would agree, but its circumstantial.
A) In a fight like that, crap happens so quick. Cant predict opponent.
b) Slamming the blade down, assuming the light saber is perfectly above sword user hand? Sword user would retain distance, diagonally catching the saber between prongs tips, and twisting quick enough that saber user wouldn't have time to react.
If saber is slammed down, the distance would be too short to reach hand (hard to explain)
Its all about the angle and distance.
C) Turn off the blade and quickly turn on? high risk of sword user stabbing before that saber come back on.
Again all circumstantial. Too many variables, but i would say, two is better than 1.
Im Star trek, the Klingon batleth is one of the most skilled close range weapons. Its curved out blades can grab and rip opponents sword from hand.
