more touches like that are needed, it is after-all a game based around a soldier on the battlefield, soldiers as well trained as SPARTAN troopers don't spray, so eliminating the enormous magazine has forced players to adapt their style to suit the smaller magazines, therefore forcing controlled bursts, therefore more like an actual soldier would.
I agree completely, I don't think the issue will re-appear, to the contrary Hunters are now harder than ever to take down. that part in New Alexandria with rocket launchers and what not, they are still hard to kill, which is good!
can understand why the sniper rifle is so effective against targets like that, it is after-all an anti-materiel rifle like a Barrett AS-50.
most people are saying 'don't change too much of the original game', where as I think 343 are in a unique position to re-invent and improve a great Universe, perhaps re-invent is the wrong word, reboot, recompile perhaps might be better. would love to see better trooper/technology symbiosis in Halo, like modern times where a special forces operator can call in air strikes, or artillery strikes, has wrist mounted GPS or tactical display giving him real-time information about where his friendlies are and where the bad guys are, un-manned drones for aerial recon and such. there is so so so much that can be improved with the Universe without alienating the fans too much.
