Clans have become pointless because now a days the clans just let anybody join. That defeats the whole purpose of it. Being part of a clan should be something u should be proud of because not that many poeple are in it. It proves that u had enough skilll to make the cut. What do u guys think about this????

There are a great many clans that only accept skilled players, maybe you should look for them.

Well, my clan SG which is CE only, but has a small branch in pc, will except anyone, but they have to be a recruit for a month or more, to prove they can follow our rules, and be able to work with the team. At the end of the recruit period, if they have been able to follow the rules, and they pass the ingame test, set up by the Clan leaders, they become a member. Sound easy?

P.S.- Admin, not trying to advertise our clan, just proving a point to this guy that there are good clans out there.

whoa, whoa, HOLD UP!!!!! I never said there weren't any good clans out there. I just said that they let random poeple join which is kind of defeating the purpose. I never meant to say that any clan was bad or anything like that.

Chewy is roght, there some clans that only accept skilled players, like in my case, they made me a "test" or something like that. but best clans are the ones that don't let you in that easily. look 4 em

Okay, I don't even run a serious clan and I don't allow in bad players.

I started my clan 'AFK' quite a few months ago and we still don't even have a website or anything. Nonetheless I still have about 10 or so members in it and all have been cleared through me. I don't accept bad players and I like to think that my clan has a high standard to uphold. I have 2 members now who are considerably better than I am. They're honestly incredible players.

Although Halo PC doesn't offer a pre-made "clan" system I still find it fun to have people who you know (via X-fire or in real life) to play with casually at any moment. As I say "there's no such thing as a bad time for a clan game"....Okay well I don't really say that but you get the point ;) A clan gives you a group of people that you enjoy playing with, nothing more. A clan doesn't even have to based off of skill, it can just be an outlet for people of similar interests (i.e. a clan for people who are interested in hockey).

Gladiator... the implication that all clans are "noob" is just stupid. My clan plays in a halo league with over 300 other active clans. We offer tryouts to only the most well known people in the community... and since our roster is capped off at 30 players... we only accept the best.

How to join any clan you wish - A breakdown, in steps:

* Discover the syntax requirements for the clan name.
i.e. - For the imaginary clan "TE," a member could be "TE_Mike89" and the clan syntax would be "TE_"

* Create a new profile in HaloPC.

* Input the clan syntax, coupled with a clever, original moniker to uniquely identify you when you're online.
Suggestion - Try not to use your real name. If your real name is "Bambi," then using a profile with the name "Mike," is okay. If your real name is "Mike," then using a profile with the name "Bambi," is okay, albiet, really weird.

* Logon to a multiplayer server to display your new handle - Voila! You're now a part of a clan, whether the clan wants/accepts you or not.

The WRX "clan" currently has two members. Of which I am the founder and the only active HaloPC player. At one point, we had five members. When we were all on together, we were unstoppable. That only happened three times though...

I wish there was a sarcasm HTML tag for the B.Net forums.

*sigh*

Oh well. Guess I'll have to explain it the old fashioned way.

Heero139; my statement was meant as a light-hearted joke. As in, not a serious statement. You can't tell me that you've never seen a situation where someone wants to join a clan, but they're told they're not allowed to, and thought, "Gee, all they'd have to do is change their profile name and then they'd be in the clan."

With HaloPC, that's all it takes. I know it, you know it, we all know it. I was just bringing the situationto light, because, honestly, I think it's kind of funny how worked up people will get about "being" in a particular clan.
