"The measure of a man is what he does with power"-Plato

And when, since he's in with a top secret SPARTAN project didn't he have to 'die' like Kurt?

But more importantly why?

There are a ton of SPARTAN IIs that could have filled Jorge's place, why him?

And what in the Sam's hell happened to Col. Holland?

Actualy, that was the first thing that came to my mind when I learned about a spartan 2 in the team, even before the release of the game. The only way this makes sense is taking in consideration Dr. Halsey's personal journal. She does talk about SOME of the spartan 2's washouts, thay with some extra procedures and therapy they could become fully operational, others who werent as lucky (and did not die) could still use theyre minds for strategic planning, etc (this last part is from the fall of reach).

Something I would have realy liked to see in halo reach is somebody giving orders (like holand) but whos face or body was disconfigured, it would have been so cool to see at least one of the washouts providing tachtical assistance (like otacon in the metal gear series). I think it would have satisfied alot of fans. I hope we get to see something like that in future games.

I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.

He wasn't conscripted into the S-III project *double facepalm*
He was just assigned to Noble Team.
He was probably put on the team to increase their chances of survival.

i dunno about why him specifically, but i have a hypothesis about why a II was in a III squad.

Spartan III's are usually given second-rate armor and sent on suicide missions. For some reason Noble Team has armor to match a spartan II. Clearly instead of the suicide missions they were used as more of a strike team, and were expected to survive.

What better way to improve the survivavility of a team then to assign one of the best soldiers ever trained to it?

Another thing to note is after jorge dies, all the other spartans begin dying, and by some pretty stupid things. Jorge's experience and training could have wound up saving everyone except Carter. Even then maybe carter. For all we know jorge's turret would have gotten rid of the banshee's before carter even got hurt.

So really, I think Jorge was assigned to Noble Team to insure their survivability. Now why it was jorge specifically? I can't really answer that.

Like Black Team, Jorge was probably snatched up by ONI after the augmentation and listed as one of the Spartans who "died" in the process. This happened long before the IIIs came about and much earlier than Holland's Spec Ops teams begun. Jorge was working for ONI long before Noble Team.

As for why he was brought into Noble, we already know that only Kat and Carter are original members. Presumably at some point one of the team's previous members was killed and Jorge was the only available Spartan to fill the empty slot.

wrong, read halsey's journal. She knew Jorge was assigned to something known as "NOBLE" but wasn't allowed to know the specific details.

Possibly, but certainly not in the way you are implying. S3's who met the genetic requirements of the S2 program were extracted from the S3 program. Either immediately after training, in the cases of Noble Six, or shortly before the big suicide pushes like Cat. These S3 are not the genetically inferior copies of the S2, but equal to S2 in all regards. Kurt had them extracted and armed as true Spartans, fighting as Spartans should.

Read Kurt's letter to Mendez. It explains all of this. Any S3 running around in Mjolnir (Six, Noble Team, Rosenda, etc) are identical to S2's in every regard except for time served.

Genetically superior SIII = SII except in Experience, tactical and strategic planning, time served (as you stated) and general proficiency in combat.
For all their superiority over their comrades, they were still trained as suicide troops and extracted at a later date, this puts them at a disadvantage compared to any seasoned soldier who's trained to fight.

I'm not saying they are useless, just not able to adapt to situations as well as others in a similar role.

I have the journal. Up until the point she discovers Noble she has no clue where Jorge was, hence her surprise to find him alive.

Probably the same way Kurt was. He had an "accident."

My Grandfather was a Desert Ranger, my Father was a Veteran Ranger in the NCR. My father was killed by Caesar's Legion and they took my Brother. It's now my responsibility to uphold the mantle of the Rangers and avenge my Father and find my Brother.

How many of them had Mjolnir armor? Give me a rough estimate.

he was assigned to Noble team, not conscripted. he is a soldier, a SPARTAN-II, they follow orders so if he is ordered to join Noble team, he joins Noble!

5 for Noble Team's IIIs
1 for Thom (Former Member)
3 for the Spartans Emile, Jun and Jorge replaced
29 for the Headhunter program (six 2-man teams with 17 rotational replacements)
1 for Spartan-344 (Rosenda)
6 for Gauntlet Team
6 for Echo Team
(Rosenda may have been in one of these teams)

so, roughly 54 Spartan IIIs received MJOLNIR armour.
