could make a shoulder mounted laser that would kill, you wouldn't see it mind! but there are lasers now that can burn holes in steel, which is a damn sight stronger than human flesh, so that isn't too far fetched! the biggest problem is an effective source of power for the laser, that is portable. that is the only problem with most electromagnetic weapons, rail-guns for example are simple, they work but they need large amounts of power, something a couple of AA batteries can't provide it would seem!

and back to teleporation, scanning is only half the problem! the thing I was getting at is the whole concept of a 'soul', like your very essence of existence. like, you can replicate the exact circumstances that existed in your brain, but can you replicate the exact events, the exact chemical and electrical activity. to be honest its more of a 'what do you think?' question rather than a question of technical merit, another thing that comes with teleporters is replicators, make one and you effectively have the other!

I assume we're talking only human stuff.

Orbital elevators.

Slip-space travel.

Smart artificial intelligence.

Hologram AA. It's most likely Covenant in origin, though (Heretics and Skirmishers use such holograms).

Orbital elevators are not far fetched at all. They've been discussed in legitimate scientific communities, of course not to be made in the immediate future.

Same goes with smart A.Is. They may not be formed by same principles but are still very possible.

Slipspace travel is on the fence. Maybe some day but maybe not in the same sense as in Halo.

Hologram is in the same category as slipspace. I came up with idea of trapping particles inside magnetic fields. With the same principle as electrons in this picture. Of course a hologram would need lots of magnetic fields to achieve shape of an object. But that's why it's in the far future.

Scientists can see holograms being made in 50 years.

Depends on the type of the hologram. My assumption only concerns a hologram which is created the way I described it. If you know a better way, could you share it with us?

Feet first into hell

Obviously, I think that... Err, wow. I think there isn't anything we can't recreate. Maybe... No. I think everything can be recreated. But the last thing would probably be the Frigrate.

Almost everything from Halo is possible within the currently known laws of physics.

Except Slipspace tech.

Orbital Elevators? We'll have them within 200 years.
Smart AI? One of the most powerful Super Computers these days can FULLY simulate a cat at 1/4th normal speed.

Exact science, is not an exact science.

Decent Multiplayer?

About the bullets, did you even read what I said?

Do you know the density difference between Lead and Tungsten?

Wait. You do realize we can evade now right now and even sprint too?

Also, you think that a Frigate is simple? Try building a Kilometer long ship with a fusion reactor and gigantic metal coils that need to be balanced, otherwise they would rip apart the ship.

Frigates are 490 meters long, not a kilometer. Your thinking of Halcyon and Marathon cruisers. And there have been super tankers in out time that were about 450 meters long, although the materials to build and maintain a UNSC Frigate will likely be far in time from now.

OT: The Halo Array, although no one really knows how it works. Perhaps a nervous killing weapon, or does it just vaporize living matter?
