Halo 2 for Life!

... Well it seems you have it connected and working. I would suggest chatting in the XBC live chat. This chat opens as soon as you open XBC.

There you can ask how to get into a game and they will help you with some of the details of getting a game.

Also if something is wrong with what your doing they will help you find out.

That is what I did.

This is a Reach account that I created the day they announced his name in a bnet weekly update. Any stats regarding ODST or Halo 3 are irrelevant. Also, Halo CE master race. Halo 1 > other halo games > other games.

Account Status: Silver :(

Your network card has to run promiscuous mode (I guess mine does not?) and I have no idea if that's the problem for me, but it's a bit frustrating. Downloading both I have to say Kai looks better.

Halo 2 for Life!

Yes, this is also correct. A network router thing must have a port or something... Best to go to XBC forums for this and ask which router is best.

Kai sucks, has to be wired...

Also, it's quite simple. computer > router > xbox. Done.

XBC allows wireless router > xbox, kai doesn't...

Some things in this World you just can't explain; but that doesn't mean they are any less true, just that you have to chose to believe in them.

Do people still use XBC? And if so, how many people are there?

Or:

If you have a slim, connect it to your Wi-Fi network. As long as the PC and the 360 are running off the same network, it's fine.

wouldnt that defeat the purpose

I downloaded kai but now I have no idea what to do. My xbox, router, and computer are all hooked up. I'm still on the main menu for halo 2..

  • 07.17.2011 11:20 AM PDT

Halo 2 for Life!

well open kai on the pc and select the halo 2 server and choose the latin server, now you should see games just pop up.

Also there is a chat option on kai, so they can also help you if your having troubles.

Halo 2 for Life!

you may need to forward a port or something (I never needed to do this so I cant really help you with this), also you may not need to but something is snagging you that didn't snag me.

Here it's on there website in the FAQ section

http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/?go=faq

also you can contact them on this website and browse or post in the forum there to find out what is exactly snagging your situation.

If you figure out what snagged your situation please post how you fixed the snag.

Question totallymassive, does the cord connect to laptops and give connection? When trying to connect to Kai with a cord-to-Xbox, I was getting squat.

Halo 2 for Life!

I use a computer and xbox.

should't matter though.

What happens (for me) is my computer is connected to wireless internet and then connect my xbox to my computer using the cord I linked to.

It should be the same for the laptop.

If you want to hook it up both with wireless, you'd probably need special ports or something on the router.

One of my original issues of hooking up to kai and connect was my router didn't have the ability to have port forwarding or something but my brother figured that part out for me.

Once you have a router that can forward ports I think you'll be ok (it might work without them as well though - you might have to look on kai forums or ask the admin by contacting them). If you router has port forwarding, you actually dont need to do anything but hook up your xbox as we didn't do anything other then hook them up and turn on the kai program.

I never needed to do this but this explains it:

.

what sort of happens when I connect to kai is I attach to a orbital (server) and then I directly communicate with that server.

Ok ive tried both, but niether program can ever find my console. My setup is i have a modeom/router, 4 ports on the back of it, and i connect my computer wirelessly, my xbox is hardwired will this work, what do i have to do? Also im not sure if the ethernet cable i connect my xbox to modeom is a "crossover cable" anyway to find out by looking at it? and does it make that much of a difference.

I don't know if you need a crossover or not but the way to tell is compare the ends you have by color. Set ends next to each other, if all the colors match it is not a crossover. If the colors do not match it's a crossover.

I can't answer that but if you do have the hardwire then try that first.

Another thing to try, just to see, is plug the CAT6 directly into your modem and see if it will get recognized that way. If it does then try your router again to see.

no troubles, cool that you got on to it.

If you want to find me I'm on the kai latin server when I have time (weekend mostly) my gamertag is MiniRaeAce.

What was the gamer tag you have (if you don't mind if I ask)?
