Subject: I need your help guys: Hostbanned for no reason (honestly)

Maybe it's time to buy your 'backup Xbox.' Always wise to have one of those. Buy a refurbished one from Mexico. You will get host every time!

Yeah I guess that won't solve the account problem.

Good luck contacting Bungie. I'd love to see you succeed.

it's 'not relatable to me'? I play on 3 yellow bars the majority of my games. If it's not 3bar then it's just 4 yellowbar. I will play a greenbar game maybe once every 50 games in matchmaking.

What do you mean 'your host might not be as good as it used to be'? If you're host you have no latency, simple. All your snipes will register.

I find it ridiculous that some people such as yourself can't tell the difference between on-host and off-host. I can tell the difference between host and a full 6bar connection easily.

Stop complaining, like I said why do you care about being hostbanned if you barely got host anyway?

  • 05.16.2011 2:02 AM PDT

He does raise a good point though. As a 50 how do you not recognize host by now?

@MLG Bea Arthur Thanks for the understanding and support man. @Ubert Humperdink If you're almost always yellow bar then it's most likely your connection that has the problem, and therefore you should be host banned. And I cannot relate to that because I am green bar unless the host is foreign which it is much of the time. If you want applause on your ability to consistently play on bad connection you won't find it here. I used to pull host over these yellow bar foreign gamers, and it made the in-game experience a lot better for everyone. With host you (do) have latency, but more accurate registration, yes this I am aware of. My host isn't always the same every time, as is the case with most people. Sometimes my host is incredibly clear, comparable to LAN. Sometimes it's a little jittery and shots that seem to be in the head do not count as headshots. The difference is due to the fact that sometimes I plug directly into my modem which will give me less latency. Sometimes I plug into my router because I have vonage which is a phone provider that uses cable internet to function and I have other people living here that don't like to miss phone calls. Anyway, when I use the router my host wasn't as clear is it was with just the modem. I do not see how that isn't common sense.

You still haven't answered my question, why do you care about not getting host if you barely ever got it anyway.

I think it's quite obvious that you are a hostbooter, and you want to be able to bridge host again so you can keep booting people.

  • 05.16.2011 2:30 AM PDT

- iFRaNcHisEd

yeah I've heard you can tell when you're host by looking at which way the bodies fall when you snipe them, but I am not sure exactly which way they're supposed to fall, and I don't pay attention to that. Contrary to many opinions you can get bloodshots on your host. Because although you have better registration you can still encounter packet loss on your host, If you don't believe me I have a couple of saved games that I'd be happy to show you guys where I am host and got bloodshots. You might see how for me it might be a little difficult to distinguish between my host and just me connecting really well to someone else's host.

  • 05.16.2011 2:34 AM PDT

- iFRaNcHisEd

I got host on average I'd say every 10 games. Sometimes more often, sometimes less. I would call that frequent. I am not a host booter. Go to my MM history and look up games from a month ago or a really long time ago. How ever long back you desire and I think you will feel like an idiot for thinking I cheat.

Well considering the linked GT to your Bnet name only has 70 games played, you are obviously hiding your main because you don't want us all to see your pages of cheating. Don't try and deny it now that I have exposed you, exactly that's what I thought. Burn.

  • 05.16.2011 2:42 AM PDT

- iFRaNcHisEd

I told you my main GT you idiot. look on page 1. it's ifranchised ..I have nothing to hide. And the reason why I am using this account is because I forgot my password to my main live account.

  • 05.16.2011 2:46 AM PDT

A fast connection doesn't mean a good connection. You could have been dropping too many packets.

Maybe it was too many quits or ppl cheating on your host.

But like I said, if you get any sort of response out of Bungie, more power to you.

I think Ackronos is the person to ask. Don't quote me on that spelling..

Sigh obviously that's just a fake GT, or somebody elses... I'm not even going to bother searching it. I know you're a cheater now because you keep denying it.

yeah a fake account that just happens to be the same as the one I am using to create this thread, a very compelling argument from a genius who was so immature that when he created his account he decides Humperdink would be a funny name. I think you belong in another thread, I think I saw one further down about how often the turret on High Ground gets used. I think you'd be more welcome there.

@Dailure: You know what rhymes with Dailure?...Failure. Which is how I would describe your comment; and probably what you received in elementary english.

Did you come up with that all by yourself? I find it funny when the spastics on this forum don't realise that Dailure is a play on words between my name "Dale" and the word "Failure".

Seriously, stop cheating, you're not even good at it.

@MLG Bea Arthur a while back I had a problem with my amplifier that connects to the modem and it was causing a lot of packet loss. I had it fixed by my isp twice. That was so long ago that it wouldn't be associated with this recent hostban. Other than those 2 times I always get 0% packet loss after testing 250 packets. This may seem contrary to my post about my different hosts and bad registration but most of the bad registration happened when I had the problem with the amp. I only used the example about my saved games where i got bloodshots on host as proof that it is possible.

@Dailure I was only harsh to you because you had obviously not read the posts and therefore you were no help. It's frustrating to run into people like this on the forums. It is the very reason why I have avoided these forums for so long. Meeting people like you is inevitable I know so I'll just dismiss your accusations about me cheating. I will say this Even if I knew how to cheat I'd hate myself for selling out. I am really good at sniping, why would I want anything less than a challenge? Don't believe me I'd be glad to play against any of you who doubt my legitimacy. Just send a msg to iFRaNcHisEd asking for an invitation. I cannot add you, my list is full.

  • 05.16.2011 3:15 AM PDT

Well all the bad host feedback adds up. Or who knows they may just arbitrarily ban you after a certain amount of games. No one knows how it works.

Good luck finding answers.

  • 05.16.2011 3:19 AM PDT

- iFRaNcHisEd

yeah I see your point about the inconsistancy. Thanks it's refreshing to know someone is on here actually trying to help me out.

  • 05.16.2011 3:24 AM PDT

Can you like, get the -blam!- over it?

so what, if you were good off-host isn't a problem. It's easy to go + on 3 bar if you know what you're doing.

A bungie employee isn't going to magically fix your 'host-ban' problem. The truth is, they don't give even half a -blam!- about you and everyone else left on H3.

  • 05.16.2011 6:04 AM PDT

Because contrary to the belief of people on this forum, most people don't get a rat's ass about 'host.' Nor do most people have any idea how to tell who is a host. Most people also just move on after a game. So adding these three together, why would you think you'd be getting messages from people if the connection was poor?

You might not be feeling lag. But the people on the other side are experiencing framerate issues because their Xbox's cannot get in Net Sync with yours. So you are host banned for your host giving others a sub-par experience. A valid reason. You may not experience any problems. As is the case quite often. But others are.

This guy is actually partially correct for once. A host ban can be something as simple as your connection experiencing spikes in ping, bandwidth, etc. If it happens multiple times it is realistic that you may be host banned.

Hell, I have even been host banned before without ever doing anything wrong. It was nothing more than searching squad battle by myself and getting hit offline while I pulled host due to nerds being incapable of playing a game legitimately. Later that day I was hit out on my host in Slayer and that was over a year ago. I have since started to receive host again in h3 (sparingly), and never in Reach.

@Hypershift I'm going to assume you haven't read anything on the first page. And yeah I have the ability to play on yellow bar connection, but why would anyone want to? That just takes the fun out of the game. Thanks for playing. @anahum & burritosenior, yeah I see your point and it may apply to some people but not for me. My ping stays about the same all of the time. I average 15ms but it never gets above 25-30ms. I've tested it multiple times while other people are using my connection for downloads. And while you guys might not be bothered by being host banned I do not have the luxury of playing with and against people I connect well to. So I have been condemned to an eternity of bad hosts. Also, I play against a super competitive crowd and if my host was ever bad for someone, trust me, I would be receiving messages about it constantly. If you are one of those people who believe competition in halo 3 has died, try searching 50 high in snipers and you will be proven otherwise.

No I am not mad..

And there's no way to actually do it wrong. You press a button and they disappear. But I would say you weren't even capable doin it to perfection.. You got banned.. Pretty sure urnotdoinitright if you get banned.
