They're big rip-offs of Xel'naga. I mean, in Starcraft, the last living Precursor was trapped in a prison, and now intends on eradicating the Protoss, using the zerg. (The Xel'naga created the Zerg/Protoss). The Prisoner thinks the Protoss stand in the way of natural evolution, and used teh zerg for a means to an end, but they will then be replaced by Hybrids.

Also, I r think hybrids look slightly similar to the description of precursor in cryptum. ok

There the xel'naga began genetically manipulating the zerg, an insignificant life form of miniature insectoids. The initial experiment was a resounding success. The parasitic zerg quickly became the dominant lifeform on the planet, with other creatures being assimilated and evolved or simply eliminated. The xel'naga were shocked to discover how quickly assimilated species could be changed beyond recognition within the space of a few generationssounds a bit similar to like the Flood in cryptum when humans discovered them yes. lol no.

Also, the Overmind=Gravemind. The xel'naga created the Overmind to control the Zerg, and the prisoner/dark voice attempts to use it to wipe out the Protoss (and indeed all life). yes?

Also, Xel'naga artifacts are susceptible to psionic attacks, but nearly impervious to everything else. (psionic=neural "physics")

And the concept of the Overmind is where it break off. The general belief atm is that the Prisoner IS the Gravemind, not that the Gravemind was created by the Precursors.

In fact, everything you just said is complete and utter speculation. We don't know anything at all about who the Prisoner is, what happened to the Precursors or why it happened. All we know is what the Prisoner said, who, considering the likely-hood he's the GM, I seriously do not trust. You seem to have mistaken a lot of the well thought out theories on this site as actual fact.

The very description of the Precursor(?) leads one to uncertainty with trust. How many lizard aliens spouting universe-changing pronoucements would you trust? In most stories, which Halo unfortunately is (please don't crucify me for the truth), it is a common trend of the lizard/serpent to be a conniving liar. And if It IS the GM or a precursor(intended) to the the concept of a GM, all the more reason to not trust it; the GM is a known liar and deceiteful creature

And that's yet another Problem. The Precursors protected and nurtered all life in the universe, not deceived and destroyed it. The Prisoner, while likely Precursor, is also not a lizard, more of a crustacean or insect with a two meter barbed tail. The description of him implies he's been mutated, possibly by the Flood. Thusly, the Prisoner is not necassarily a shining example of the Precursors anyway.

We'll need to wait and see before we start calling out rip offs.

When I said "lizard" I was generally classifying it. For example, grouping bees and yellow jackets together. close enough. Excuse me for my xenostereotyping
