Does anyone remember the flipped spirit on this level? what i want to know is, how the hell did the pilot manage to flip the ship like that?!?!?! The back of the ship is propped up on a tree, and it's upside down. this would mean the pilot drove backwards and did a barrel roll, or somehow managed to nearly do an entire front flip in the middle of a swamp! how is this possible?!

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

It could have tumbled through the tree's while it was crashing. Or came in at a steep angle and rolled in any manner of direction after hitting ground.

Shot down and landed like that. Or maybe the pilot was infected.

well i figured that. that part was obvious. but what i dont get is how the ship can just flip that easily. how did it flip all the way upside down in such little space? as for the tumbling theory, that's pretty much the only logical answer, but even still, it would be rather unlikely for it to land the way it did from an operating position with so many trees around. There are just too many trees around for something like that to happen accidentally. the pilot had to have been very skilled, very retarded, and flipped it on purpose. No seriously, go back and take a good look at it and the surrounding area. I'm suprised the ship even landed in that spot with so many trees surrounding it.

My best guess is that the pilot tried to go as high up as possible, yanking on the joystick, but was killed/infected before they could escape and crashed. The fact that it's straight down indicates that the pilot was incapacitated during escape and the ship simply fell out of the sky.

That explains it. There was no way the guy was actually flying through that swamp, so he just fell from the sky. Okay, thanks. That kind of confused me.

Take a good look at the fork design. Those dropships probably aren't aerodynamically stable. If certain kinds of controls get knocked out, I dont see any reason that they wouldn't flip.

probably got caught by the funny shaped trees. that awkward C shape did not help in getting back upright or freeing itself.

I like to imagine that the pilot was being infected at the time of the crash. Love that level. Paints a pretty cool horror-story, if ambiguous. The player can only imagine WTF went on a few hours before their arrival.

Agreed, it's something the sequels don't do well conveying.
