~ Ironically, capital letters do not get people's attention, only encourage them to ignore you and do anything but take you seriously. It's just an eye-sore - Please don't.

I didn't read all of the replies so this may be a duplicate of someone else's idea.

How to posts, or Educational posts seem to be well received. Just make sure it hasn't already been done before.

* Make a catchy title that people want, not what you want, no caps!
* If you are makig a rant, make it intellegent, don't go like "OMFG THE ARBER IS TEH SUXX!" Instead, put "I don't like the Arbiter, the fact that you play as the Covenant is very odd to me and I don't admire that out of Bungie." Good fluency there, by the way I love the Arbiter, don't worry.
* Never post multiple threads, make a big master one(as long as topics in it are relevent to eachother).
* Support facts, make reasons.
* Make sure to have near perfect spelling, punctuation and grammer, it is prooven that it makes you look smarter.
* Don't point out names of people, it can hurt them.
* If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
* Use text markup to make it look more attractive and higher quality, it also helps point out things eisier(sp).
* See how I used (sp)? That is to indicate that you spelled something wrong and you know it, you just don't know how to spell it, people can help you there.
* Take the time to reply to peoples questions, you can do this in one post. So the Ninja's don't think you are bumping.
* Don't be extreamly biased on sometyhing, if you want to be, be sure to stat that that is your opinion.
* Avoid using heavy use of profanic words(the F-bomb, the synonym for ciggerete etc), and avoid using the N word.
* If someone objects to your post, don't flame them. But if they do in a flaming matter, you have the right to flame them back, but don't be too harsh, if they keep attacking you, just call upon the lord shishka. Or Recon, or Toast, etc.

Bla.

what exactly entitles a successful thread.
isn't it one that you got your answer to no matter how many or few people posted.
or is it one that you got a bazillion replies to that completely went off topic after the first reply which in many occasions even the first reply is off topic
