No, there arent any...

For the simple reasons that computers arent fast enough to pull it off.

I disagree. Modern PC's would have the required hardware to be able to emulate an Xbox OS. However, that still doesn't make it legal.

Ice is correct in that the answer to the question is, "No." Or at least, no-one here is (I should say, "should be") stupid enough to tell you and try and provide links. Also, I would highly recommend that you don't ask questions like that in this forum, as it will lead you to ban-ination.

I understand your reasoning for the question, but I suggest that you be a bit more careful as to how and where you phrase it.

Hahahaha, computers aren't fast enough?! The xbox would be the most junkiest computer ever, if it wasn't a console. Computers are definatly fast enough, but no one has done any emulators, because its microsoft who would be knocking at their door. No one wants to mess with microsoft legaly.

The Xbox hardware: 733MHZ Intel CPU, 64mb PC100 RAM, 233MHZ nVidia video.

How the hell does it play Halo so well?

Direct Access. (And a lower resolution)

While I don't know the exact specs, I think they are about the same as a nice computer today. However, consoles aren't very upgradeable, and pc technology gets better so fast now a days.

Specs:
Processor: Custom IBM PowerPC CPU (supposedly this is triple core)
Graphics Processor: Custom ATI Processor (not sure what it is equivilent to)
System Memory: 512MB UMA (Shared with GPU)

The reason why Halo runs so well on Xbox it that is was made for Xbox hardware. It's also the reason why game companies are trying to get everyone on consoles, its easier to program for one set of hardware then the hundreds of different configuration in PC's. The reason why Halo PC needs a high end PC is that is uses the latest shaders that won't run well on the lower end PC's.

I think Halo Xbox on a TV looks like pure garbage. Halo 2 looked better but I still don't like looking at a TV. The 360 will only work with a monitor or HDTV so that should look a lot better.

There are two factors you are not considering:

1) Any kind of emulation requires more power than the original system.
2) The Xbox is a dedicated gaming console, whereas the PC has to spread its resources around. Xbox games can be designed to use all of the Xbox's resources, whereas PC games have to run in a completely different environment.

I did consider those. I considered number two when I said it would be junky if it wasnt a console, but that probably wasnt worded the best. Computers these days are 3-4 times faster CPU wise, and like 100 times better GPU wise. Taking in the fact that windows has to run, I would say there isn't a shortage of power to run an emulator these days.

Modern computers can run an xbox emulator? That would have to be an absolutely state-of-the-art comp with the best of the best in it.

Emulating resquires a lot, and I mean a LOT more processing power than the original system.

To give you an example: a GBA emulator runs too choppy to be playable on a 500 MHz computer with 128 megs of ram.

Now compare the GBA to an XBOX... good luck

most emulator stuff is illegal unless you own the game... or so they claim. who knows, it might be illegal overall...

anyway i kinda would caution you not to reveal anything you may not want to say... if you have anything to hide. it can get you in deep doodoo

emulation is a touchy subject
