i love haloCE. it rules. best game ive ever playerd since all those others. but in recent retropec, i think halo2 might eventually claim the high road to fame as vastly superior. no no, not a new campaign, but halo2PC. no more autoaim and the endless possibilities for modding are a big step in the right direction.

sure, haloce is nigh perfect. its a great game, but it doesnt have a huge number of areas where it can improve upon. halo2 does, which is why its 2nd place right now. but with a removal of autoaim, possible removal of lunges, better weapon balance, and respawning guns, the game may kick ass. maybe even more than CE.

im looking forewards to vista, but dont interperet this as me reclaiming my schoolgirl shreiking for the release of halo2. that feeling is long dead.

Both games have got it wrong in a number of places where they tried to fix balance... in halo1 the shotgun was the "must have" type weapon that once you picked it up it never ran out of ammo and could kill almost any enemy in one hit. In halo2 it was worse than the sword (and it says in the manual the swords range is 3 feet... how sad) as for the warthog... well it should have less acceleration... and maybe the sliding from halo1.

*throws a rather large cinder block at angrysk8r* new content and patches are a really important thing, how can you say it doesn't make a game good?

Have you ever played the original mario, or duckhunt, or any of the classic games? Did those games NEED patches to be the great classics that they are now? How are patches and updates important for a game to become good? I'd rather have halo the way it is now (PERFECT) than for some update or patch to screw with the already great balance of the physics, weapons, vehicles, and maps.

i doubt the vista version is ever gunna be THAT huge. like, the modding capabilities i wouldnt be suprised if they go to waste.

take warcraft 3 for example. blizzard game the editor craploads of stuffs it could do. you can script parabola jumps. you can create custom knockback abilities that do chain knockbacks. and it all looked all cool and stuff until guinsoo made DotA Allstars and 1000000 noobs flocked to the map and clogged the game listings until nobody could get a game started with anything else. which is bad, because dota sux ass. like, everything dies in like 3 hits. think of what it would be like if you were playing halo campaign, and you got a scarab gun, but grunts could kill you in 2 hits.

now, im not saying itll turn that bad, but mass customizability never did anything good in the long run. just my opinion...

omg? customization is apprently bad. haloCE and 2 have been the most customizable fps ever and apparently more options would somehow ruin the game? halo2 blows as is. if they make a map maker and the ability to balance the guns a bit more as well as making new multiplayer choices involving weapons and vehicles, you would be under the impression that all htat is useless?

have you ever actually played halo2?

i want hangemhigh and all the HPC maps for halo2, since htey own over 3/4ths of the bungie maps. i want respawning guns. i want no lunging. i want the shadow. i want the pelican. and i dont wanna have a strait port for halo2 to the PC, otherwise there is no way i want to buy it. the ability to play a better game is its selling point to me.

no autoaim just doesnt do enough for me, as the game has far more faults than that alone. thanks for your time.

Halo 2 is not great, good games do not need patches. They should have never took out the pistol. The pistol made halo different and fun to play. You did not have to go for power weapons. Without the pistol it just feels like a regular game. Sad really. I did not know how much the pistol made the game play more fun. Now it is just plain.

i've just kind of glanced throught the other posts so forgive me if someone posted this already, but when comparing multiplayer of halo to halo 2, you really need to make sure that you are not talking about xbl vs lan, because there are going to be several differences that have nothing to do with the actual game itself. i know a lot of people complain about the glitchyness of halo 2 xbl, but when you play lan i don't really see that problem.

The REAL Master Chief

Finally people who agree with me.There is not a chance in hell halo3 will be like the first halo.So I have come to the conclusion there is two ways we will get what we want.
1)Bungie makes halo 1 xbox live compatable

2)They make a second game besides halo 3 based on the halo 1's engine.It could be the fall of reach
