Subject: Year 2552? What? *LOOK TO SEE MORE*

After a while of it collecting dust on my shelf I decided to beat ODST on legendary finally. Now it's my impression that Halo 3 ODST takes place after Halo 2 and before Halo 3 but something confuses me. Halo Reach (which takes place right before CE) is also in the year 2552, July I think. But I don't understand, I thought Halo 2 took place a year after CE and even if I'm wrong I find it hard to believe that the entire Halo series (maybe besides Halo 3, again I'm not sure) takes place is 2552 and on top of that in the second half of the year! Could someone explain this to me because I'm lost @_@

reach fell in late july/early august. PoA crashed on halo in august. MC spent roughly 2 weeks total on halo. he escaped and took the journy home with the other survivors (about 2 months of travel/ass kicking). after this escipade he was given a medal in a cerimony on Oct 20 2552, the day of the earth invasion. that same day he jumped to the second halo. he spent maybe a week at most there then he was captured by the grave mind. after another week at most, he was put on High charity and screwed the place over and escaped in a matter of hours. on the dreadnaught, he spent a few days on his slipspace travel to earth. during the invasion of earth, ODST took place. after ODST, the covenant dug up the portal. when the digging was finnished MC did his epic jump into africa and fought his way to voi a day or two after landing. take one day for floodgate and the long cutscean between missions and you end up with the chief on the ark in late Nov. he spends a week at most on the ark blowings stuff up. the war ends with the arks disstruction in the last week of Nov and the UNSC cleans up the stragglers for the next few months. simple logic.

There is one problem with this. The Master Chief was only with the Gravemind for a short period of time, a few hours at most, and was then teleported to High Charity. This puts your date estimates off a bit. As for the rest, it sounds right to me.

ODST starts at the beginning of the Covenant invasion of New Mombasa in the East African Protectorate. The end of the game is after the larger Covenat fleet begins excavation near Voi, over the dreadnought's launch pad. The epilogue (the cinema with Johnson in it) takes place while the dreadnought is in transit via slipspace to Earth.
