I made a pair of Firefight gametypes based on Halo CE. Try them out! The Classic version is exactly what it says, where the Revamped version incorporates loadouts and Evade.

Increasing weapon damage to around 200 - 300% makes it play more like CE. But then you have to remove the grenades.

Why would you have to remove the grenades? Halo: Combat Evolved's campaign had grenades galore. (Mainly Plasma Grenades due to almost every enemy having some) It also had full on nuke grenades as compared to Reach's "Mini-Nukes"

There isn't that much to explain. You spawn with only Human weapon loadouts that were in CE in the Revamped, or an AR and pistol in the Classic version, and fight Grunts, Jackals, Elites, and Hunters. I'm going to update both gametypes as soon as I get around to playing again, and I'll let you guys know when I do.

Oh, and one of the things I was thinking about putting in that update was decreased enemy damage resistance. But not 50%, I was thinking more like 75% or 90%.

Yes, but the CE grenades were harder to aim with and took 1 or 2 seconds longer to blow up.

As a general rule, either everything did less damage or everything had more health and stronger shields. Take your pick.
