Subject: Xbox 360 console temporarily banned from earning credits - Bungie

as i just created this account i cant post a new thread. so unfortunately i'll revive this old one. anyway i was temporarily banned from earning credits. i just bought reach last night and began playing live on MY 360 for the first time. ive been reading a little and im still confused as to why i got banned. i was never AFK or anything like that. if you look at my record i obviously wasnt cheating in anyway. so why has the banhammer been brought down on me?? the only thing i can think of was i was playing my brother who literally has never played before. and he was getting 3 or less kills every game. idk why my guest would affect me though. please help, i love halo very much and am quite bummed on the ban.

Spartan didn't you have the same problem a few months ago? I just remembered you made this thread. Why would they ban you again?

(V)!_!(V) crab

Dear op:

Just leave the -blam!-ness taht is called reach MM. I quit a year ago because I got banned for playing the way I normally play in halo 3 sometimes (Just running around and causing mischief). I explained it here, and nobody believed me so I basically said f you to this community and reach mm. Bungie is too proud or retarded to realize that leaving an auto banhammer in control is moronic. Especially since they left the settings on it too search and destroy.

Wow. I've bought every Bungie product for years, but won't buy another, ever. Some younger players were using my account and I got banned for poor play or whatever. I'll not only never buy your crap again, I won't play it either - assuming I don't get reinstated with an apology. Holds breath.....

wrong.

He said he has been playing Reach for a while, he just got introduced into 'online gaming'. There are so many retards on reach its hard to be that bad.

I like to play Reach for fun. I hate MLG, campers, armor lock, and team killers because they ruin that fun. Deal with it.

If you're this new and can hardly get any kills, just play campaign/firefight until you can play.

Do what? I have the Index! You can just float and sputter!

So much win! Also I was unaware that bungie was responsible for keeping the kids off of your console. That's one of the things you should be capable of. On another note OP get better offline. Play the campaign and/or firefight on Legendary. The Banhammer may be broken but it cannot be appealed.

Funnily enough that's possible. Since it will be on Microsoft servers (my assumption) I'll have access to grab them by the tonsils and pull if I so desire. Bungie is proudly embracing the lamest of lame game snob attitudes which will be harmful to their bottom line. On the other hand, I may make yet another call to Microsoft and cancel all my Live accounts and get rid of Xbox entirely out of my sense of righteous indignation. As small a deal as it may seem, this really has got under my skin.

Anyway, the Live person I spoke to was sympathetic and agreed (admittedly without directly saying it) that Bungie's approach is unjust at best. I think I may write Bungie a strongly worded letter; that'll show 'em!

I do sit here wondering why anyone would want to keep kids off their console and account? Microsoft's method of making gamertag mobility such an archaic operation nearly dictates that I have multiple accounts for my different boxes, and 'we' use them in part interchangeably. Is this against their rules? (I don't really care of course, I'll set the rules, thanks - I don't mod, or cheat, I pay for what I use - if I suck at the game so bad Bungie has a problem with it I'll at minimum stop flowing money their way). I've been known to 'go to war' for less an affront than this; it's probably a character flaw this out of balance sense of justice.

I totally agree with you. They do what they want and in no way can you contact anyone for help or even the reason why. This has been one very upsetting game. If I wasn't addicted to Halo, I would be off not. I am totally legit and have had a lot of problems not getting challenge credits, banned etc.
If this is the way they are going to make games in the future, I will stop buying games from them.
I just finished two of the challenges for the day and never got one credit. I'm afraid to work for the weekly not knowing. I have lost a lot of credits so far.

Just had a similar experience. Glad we're getting other things instead of Halo -- buh-bye Bungie. My kid and I just joined Xbox Live (thanks for taking all his points away because we played offline too long, MS) -- we played for about a week, and he invited a friend over who doesn't even HAVE an Xbox. Lots of "how do I jump" and so forth. Suffice to say that kid was bad.

Good morning, two days before Christmas, you've been banned. Bungie (aka MS). Well, 1) gonna stop playing Halo in 2 days anyway (BF3) ... 2) Since I'm the payer, MS, YOU are the one who is looking at a banhammer ... and 3) Minecraft.

You must confront your inabilities
You must adjust to your capabilities

If you played for several hours then you could have gotten the credit maxed temporary ban. You can only get so many credits in a day.
