I am the best thing that ever happened to you

Halo 2 is far superior in terms of story telling. By the time Reach came out I was already bored with the series. Why couldn't Bungie have made a more colorful and interesting installment. What if it had been about an ex kangaroo boxer with a humorous Australian accent on a quest to save orphan children from the Covenant with the help of a magical alien artifact he found on Delta Halo a stolen mark v suit of armor and a kitten firing bazooka. He could even have a friend with Down's Syndrome !

Can't play Halo 2 online, so obviously Reach.
Halo 2 campaign is better than Reach online.
Indeed.

Feel free to message me about anything!

Reach, Halo 2 was -blam!- terrible. (Except for Campaign).

Halo 2 nothing beats a game from the original trilogy

I like it how people who play Reach do something like go to sleep and people think therefore Reach is losing players.

Reach would give me far more content and the online community still exists for Reach.
So ummm Reach...

And no I've played every Halo to date, so I'm not a newcomer to the franchise.

Halo 2 all the way.. the flaws of halo2 are what helped it be soo successful, (weapon glitches, bouncing etc.)

I still like reach but if I had to choose one, it would be Halo 2 without a doubt!!!

Halo is dead. Linked tag is permanently banned from XBL

I loved H2. Ironically, I still play Halo 3 after Reach came out but I never went back to H2 after Halo 3 came out, probably because it took forever to find a match. Halo 3 hasn't hit that yet in certain playlists

I am a bungie fan i have played both extensively and i would have to say halo 2. Even though reach has armor choices and forge Halo 2s campaign had it all flood 3 way battle and dual wielding as well as the guass not smashing every single object in forge. I still love reach and play it constantly dont get me wrong its a great game but its jsut halo 3 instead with more spartans and different looking brutes again and the brutes in reach are only challenging in legendary i loved in halo 2 they took everything its what made them fun they would charge you and your only option were to run or die. Sure halo 2 wasnt properly finished and it has bugs but it is still fun and some of the bugs make the game harder to play making it more of a challenge.

Reach. The graphics in Halo 2 are utter $hit.

116 people are blinded by nostalgia.

Sorry, but that's what it is. Sure, you're welcome to your opinion because of it. You can even go ahead and deny, say Halo 2 is the better game, and try and draw people into an endlessly pointless debate over "play speed", "skill gap", "originality", or whatever other completely opinionated made-up quantity you want to insist Halo 2 has more of.

But Reach is still better. Sorry, that's just how it is.

Not really. I didn't have xbl when H2 came out, I still think it is a better game and play it whenever I get the oppurtunity to online. I'm currently upgrading my PC and me and a few friends are getting H2V and plugging xbox controls in :)

And while it may be opinionated, it is the opinion of the most skilled gamers throughout the series so it has more weighting than somebody that can't go positive yet thinks hes pro.

I never said I was pro, and I am positive. Are you smoking again?

Fact remains, you had Halo 2 before Halo 3. Really, I played it, and I was like "What? This is like a kiddy cartoon off cbeebies compared to Reach." You obviously played Halo 2 before Halo 3. Doesn't matter if it's campaign or MP, nostalgia sticks regardless.

I am by far not new, I do choose Reach just because it's got more stuff that I like compared to Halo 2. Though for campaign, I'd choose Halo 2 hands down...

That's MY story, and I'm sticking to it.

Left here a long time ago.

Reach.

Much less network manipulation.
More stable game engine.
Larger levels (i.e. Forge World).
Forge.
Theater.

Hmm, Halo 2 was okay and so was Reach. I probably would take Halo 2 over Reach though. I think the concepts for Reach were great but I liked the campaign on Halo 2 and the fact you could play from different angles i.e. Chief and arbiter. Don't get me wrong Reach is great. Maybe more effort and it would push this game higher on my list.

The multiplayer on both is sub-par it's Halo. Though Reach gives new elements which had both good and bad effects for me. The Halo 2 multiplayer was fun but the Reach multiplayer was fun. After a while it began to get a bit repetitve. I still think both games are great and has there ups and downs.

well to decide you'd have to remove all the elements that Reach has because it was released later, AKA more 'development' time.
ok....
Oh! silly me! they're exactly the same!

Tucker - Bow chicka bow wow
Caboose - Hey chicka bump bump
Elites - Bow chicka honk honk

Reach.

For me Reach is a lot closer to the original game, Halo CE was the game that made me love FPS games. When Halo 2 came out it just didn't have the same impact and I never liked the brutes becoming the main enemies, I preferred having to defeat the elites with guile and tactics over the brutes and the 'I've got a bigger gun' technique.

  • 05.23.2011 5:29 AM PDT

Reach. Halo 2 was just way too ridiculous. Super bouncing, a retarded dual wielding mechanic, a jump height of 8 feet and a total lack of gravity, -blam!- weapons, noob friendly health system, noob friendly hit boxes, melee lunge, four grenades, button combos and glitches, modders and hackers galore. Halo 2 was BROKEN beyond belief.

The ONE good aspect of Halo 2 were the maps. Everything else adds up to be the most over rated game in history.

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

I rather have all of the Halos, I used to have Halo 3 and ODST but I sold them to get Reach, so now I got CE and Reach and I'm trying to get 3,ODST and Wars for a good price while I search for a Halo 2 Copy.

  • 05.23.2011 5:41 AM PDT

I voted halo 2 and I would say I had just about as many good times playing halo 2 as I did in 3. Halo 2 had some of my all time favorite maps and improved on what Halo CE did by getting the online multiplayer ball rolling. Halo 3 was a great game IMO and kept me interested throughout its reign. Halo CE will always be my favorite though and mainly for nostalgia. The first three games had a simplistic formula to win. "Teamwork, weapon control, and whoever was the better shot was gonna win regardless" Reach killed this formula by the advent of too much extra crap. It no longer matters how fast and accurate you are, because hey, you have pace your shots regardless now to keep the bad shooters alive (which gives you more of a chance to get double teamed). Kill times are stupid long now compared to previous games. Dont even get me started on armor abilities and the melee system. Sorry for the rant. No flaming please, just wanted to speak my opinion.

Thanks guys.

I would rather have Halo 2 than Halo Reach, but that would only be if it still had xbox live.
