Subject: Need people for Halo 2 PC Achievements

Winning achievements through private matches defeats the purpose of them, they are called achievements, i.e. ment to be earned.

  • 05.29.2011 4:54 AM PDT

Dont care, Dont care, Dont care, Dont care.

I will forever use EST because that is the timezone I am in.

Its not just about getting achievements for me. I'm helping other people get achievements as well.

Although you are completely correct Zetren, I don't know if you have played Halo 2 recently but there are a lot of empty servers and for those players who would like to earn 100% of the achievements in the games they play, a very low population can make this very difficult.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

Which really says a lot about how crap both the game and its community are.

I'm with Zetren on this. If I ever had to boost for achievements, they just wouldn't feel like I'd achieved anything. Bragging about e-peen is pathetic in itself. Bragging about e-peen that you had to give a jolt of e-Viagra via boosting is just... I can't even begin to describe how garbage you'd need to be to actually consider it.

o.o

An excellent community doesn't depend on the number of people who make up the community. I myself though the community was fun. People made games and organized matches. It was great cuz I was able to host them in big parties too!

OK then, ben. It's small, and filled with drama and hackers. In fact, someone just released a bot which lets you sit back while the bot aims and runs for you.

I never experienced that stuff (or at least never noticed it), so I can't be one to agree with you guys. And what do you mean by drama? I've always wanted to know what you meant by that. And besides, this thread itself is an example of how Halo 2's online community is socially healthy; people are mingling with others and doing things together. It's what you're supposed to do. What better way to get things started than to ask?

This thread exists because the community isn't healthy enough to get something done legitimately. Therefore, the few people that have low enough standards to actually bother with that heap of junk are trying to make up for it here, recruiting people to do something that they can't otherwise do because the community is dead.

This thread is the exact opposite of evidence of a healthy H2V community. It's like saying death metal is an example of how music has gotten more relaxed and passive.

Why don't you look up drama on Urban Dictionary, ben.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=drama

Typical H2V drama involves getting banned from 1-2 servers, flamewars, hacking, being a script kiddie, 81e4ing, and more.

Oh, and watch this if you want to buy h2v. Anyone can crash, just hex edit.

Eh, they can still do all the achievements. There are still completely filled games on Halo 2. I got all of the multiplayer Achievements for a friend the other day after just a few matches, they're not hard to get in the least.

I'm sorry but that sounds exactly like Halo PC... Definitely the "Golden" days. Clan bickering was a constant, getting banned from servers just because you can land headshots on the first shot, people threatening to hack you, loads of aimbots/other hacks for people to choose from, etc. It's not really the game's fault for all of that stuff, it's just the community, which is made up of all the same people.

Edit: Sorry for the double post, forgot to copy and paste it into an edit to the original -_-'

The players on halo PC seem far more mature than those on Halo 2 Vista, I played a match yesterday on H2V, came first (as usual) and the rest of the players told me to -blam!- off because I was beating them all.

On halo 2 vista you literally meet the same players every single day, so you begin to know how good or bad each person is.Currently I know of only 2 people better than me at Halo 2, and all of the population, yes all, are children/young teenagers. it's obvious by their frequent grammar mistakes and general noobishness.

I was playing CE yesterday too, CE has some good players, and people can spell for a start!

ahah I don't have any of those lol. But xfire is super simple.

just type xfire in google and look at the subtopics of the first choice given to you in google. "Download Xfire" and then "New User Registration". A click of a button and a few personal info (your new user ID + pass) are you'll need to do.

If not, then whatever lol i'm too lazy to get a GFWL or Steam account.

No one uses GMT. Everyone always uses EST. And I'm the East Coast. And it's my thread. So, Learn the Timezones.

Anyways, I'll be signing on soon.

GMT is the international standard time. Greenwich Mean Time. It's London time essentially. You should work by our standards, because we invented time zones along with virtually everything else.

Hmmm... the number of people who play Halo in the US compared to Europe? Probably like 100x more people play Halo in the US. So F*** YOU, I'm not using GMT, EVER

What's so funny about that? Just because you don't have any friends doesn't mean that's the case for us as well.

To stefen99: I was first introduced to this when I played Jedi Knight Academy way back. Never bothered to look for another gamer-friendly messaging service since.

To dusk: In my opinion Xfire is the last type of messaging service i'd use to chat with friends.

Well, you can link your AIM, Yahoo, and MSN accounts to it, which makes it my first pick because my friends seem to be spread around all three of those.
