im Just trying to get more xp on my lone wolves 50 before reach comes out,Thats really the only time I put effort in. Other then that I mess around in social with friends... I use to play pretty seriously, that time has passed....
Hi all! : )
I have been a customer and purchaser of everything halo since the release of halo 1.
ahh the great times of Halo 1, back in those days, the technology of that game and the physics surpassed everything else, and back then, everything that was in that game "shields, multi kills, sticks, having a bunch of allies on ur team etc" was completely original, and barely if ever done before. This made the campaign extremely fun to play. Ontop of that online didnt exist so it wasnt missed, playing multiplayer split screen or system link on blood gulch was endless amounts of fun.
As time passed, More people started to notice Halo, it started growing in popularity. Then came xbox live and soon after, Halo 2.
At this point, online play was completely fresh, killing people over a video game never felt so good, it was almost unreal. Ontop of that, me and my friends would play for hours doing system link with two xboxs and tvs, we all loved it. I had like over 100 different profiles on my Halo 2.
bungie realized how competitive Halo 2 really is compared to other games out at the time, and it was an obvious part of their success, they even increased the competitiveness by tightening BR spread, among other things, to further increase competitivness, and therefore, further increase their success. Halo 2 was by far the number 1 console game for a long time.
Then, something -blam!- happened in the gaming industry all together, instead of making games very difficult and usually purely meant for gamers. Game companys started making games that can appeal to any audience, whether they game or not, to try increasing sales, and they were successfull.
Now games try to make it so bieng skilled can still benifit, but even if you cant play a video game you can still have fun.
At this point is when Halo 3 came out, while appealing to casual players much more then then previous Halos, There was still a good payoff for bieng good at the game and practicing, learning the tricks(strafing, leading shots, crouch jump etc), having good aim, knowing the maps and spawns, all these things seperated the good from the bad. If someone wasnt good at Halo 3 it was very easy to tell, as good and bad players differ tremendously. There was always a bunch of good ranked playlists,
and the trueskill system was amazing, its a shame people figured out a way to manipulate it, because there is no ranking system better then the Halo 3 trueskill. Overall, many years of fun with this game, like most die hard halo fans, its probably the Halo i played the most. Also, skill in passed Halo games contributed to skill in this one, since all 3 halos are similar.
So because of my love for Halo I decided to buy the Legendary Edition of Reach, since because of previous games, my faith in bungie making something great was pretty high. Played a custom with my friends, thought the game seemed ok at first, although I found it strangely wayyyyyyy and i mean WAY too easy to aim with the Snipe, isnt this weapon meant to take skill? It takes none now, whoever has it will get kills with it, even if they have downs
that matched with the DMR slow as hell so its impossible to go clutch with it on a team, you literally have to wait for ur team to bum you before you can attack, it bieng so easy to aim matched with it bieng so incredibly slow, makes for much less reaction time, easier kills for nubs, and a lower skill gap.
The ranked playlists offer nothing at all. Like seriously 1 playlist in Arena? and like 20 in social? Why? why isnt snipes ranked? why isnt MLG ranked? SWAT? Why cant they keep FFA in ranked? Is it because the ranking system is now so fail it only works with 1 playlist? Starcraft did it right, Why cant bungie?
now my Legendary edition collects dust and none of my friends like Reach either, I dont understand why they felt the need to change the game up so much they ruined it, take advice from COD and GEARS, keep the mechanics the same, add new weapons and maps, update the graphics. You would of just did that, the game would of been ten times more succesfull then Reach, I dont understand how a bunch of game developers who usually made smart decisions couldnt realize that? Im sorry but thats just my long rant.
