Subject: Strength Levels of Spartans

What could an 'average' Spartan-II pick up, throw, and what kind of destruction can a punch or kick do?

What could an 'strong' Spartan-II pick up, throw, and what kind of destruction can a punch or kick do?

What could an 'average' Spartan-III pick up, throw, and what kind of destruction can a punch or kick do?

What could an 'strong' Spartan-III pick up, throw, and what kind of destruction can a punch or kick do?

Ahh it's you. Been a while hasn't it? We WILL finish this.

Just you wait.

Average spartan 2 could pick up and throw something like a large SUV maybe a truck if he tries.

Strong spartan 2 could pick up and throw a truck. If he tries he can pick up and flip over a lightly armored scorpion truck.

Average spartan 3 in mjolnir can pick up and throw a medium sized car.

Strong spartan 3 in mjolnir can pick up a large SUV.

Average spartan 3 in SPI armor can rip off a jackal's head and arm and play baseball with it.

Strong spartan 3 in SPI can beat down an elite major.

The SPARTAN-IIs are capable of lifting three times their body weight, which is double the normal weight of an average human due to the ceramic bone augmentations

Spartan III's did not get as expensive augmentations on them because they were supposed to be "expendable". So I would assume their strength is half of a Spartan II.

  • 05.21.2011 2:56 PM PDT

Well the IIs and IIIs are just about the same, the only real difference being the IIIs don't get the strength/speed boost like the SIIs because they don't have Mjolner, out of armor, or with the same armor they're pretty much equal.

I'm not sure what they could pick up and throw...but in Mjolner they can easily flip a Warthog or something similar over, might be able to flip a Scorpion, not sure if that's just gameplay or not. I know that no Spartan could ever hope to flip and Elephant on their own.

Flip a Warthog over. Crush bone, kill in one hit.
What could an 'strong' Spartan-II pick up, throw, and what kind of destruction can a punch or kick do?
Throw a 'Hog over a Scorpion. Break skin and shatter bone. Leveling/liquefying that area under the skin.
What could an 'average' Spartan-III pick up, throw, and what kind of destruction can a punch or kick do?
A lightly armored 'Hog; a Mongoose; crush bone.
What could an 'strong' Spartan-III pick up, throw, and what kind of destruction can a punch or kick do?
Flip a regular 'Hog; a small car.

Its just that nobody knows it yet...

Weren't the SP II's meant to be more light weight and faster?

  • 05.21.2011 3:14 PM PDT

If any of you guys read the Halo novels it would have told you the Spartan ll program was expensive and only the most healthiest humans would become a full strength spartan ll, most of them did but with minor problems and some of them had to be placed in jell tanks because the body became to messed up such as limbs grew to extreme lengths and bones snapped badly. The Spartan lll program was created to send them on suicidal missions with a samll price to pay for the agumentations with lower death and broken bone rates. The spartan lll program also had a agumentation wich caused them to become better than spartan lls in times of extreme stress, problem with that was the spartan llls some times couldn't make the right choices while fighting and made them more independent so they wouldn't work as well as a team.

They were cheaper because they did not get Mjolnir armour which costs as much as a Frigate.

As far as augmentations go, what logic dictates that because something is cheaper it is automatically poorer in quality? (Assuming they even were cheaper...) Can you give me the details of the precise differences between the physical augmentations of the two programs?

They cannot flip large vehicles even with Mjolnir on. A Warthog is 3000 kg, a Spartan in Mjolnir could barely go as high as 800kg. Ghosts and Mongooses are a different story though, they are in at about 400-500kg.

There is no difference.

Fall of Reach states that they are capable of lifting 3 times their bodyweight, which is double that of an average human. So if you assume 150-200 pounds as average human weight, they can lift 900-1200 pounds even without Mjolnir.

“Strange,” mused the Director, as they turned away, “strange to think that even in Our Ford’s day most games were played without more apparatus than a ball or two and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of netting. imagine the folly of allowing people to play elaborate games which do nothing whatever to increase consumption.”

The Black Chapter!

A Spartan can flip an Elephant. Anyone know how much they weigh?

  • 05.21.2011 4:03 PM PDT

No they can't, that's only for gameplay purposes. An Elephant weighs 450,000 pounds.

It actually says twice their body weight, so more like 600-700 pounds and that is at their maximum. Armor increases their strength another double of that so that would mean they can lift around 1200-1500 pounds fully armored.

Maybe a 1000 pounds... they aren't capable of full on lifting even warthogs, just rolling them over.

Also III's have the same physical strength, only SPI does not augment their power unlike Mjlonir.

I cannot remember exactly where in the book they said that the Spartan III augmentations were a bit weaker. A bit, not a lot.

  • 05.22.2011 6:33 AM PDT

No, it's three times. Page 92 of the 2010 version of FoR:

Dr. Halsey leaned against the glass wall staring at the carnage below. "Very well, Chief Mendez, what else do I need to know?"
"Your Spartans can run at bursts of up to fifty-five KPH," he explained. "Kelly can run a little faster I think. They will only get quicker as they adjust to the 'alterations' we've made to their bodies. They can lift three times their body weight-which, I might add, is almost double the norm due to their increased mescle density. And they can virtually see in the dark."

they also had a larger genetic pool wich means they weren't the perfect humans like the II's

Signatures are for squares.

The III's did not receive the Thyroid implant which greatly increased Muscle mass and strength. So obviously the II's are stronger than the III's.

Just sayin'.
