"I pledge to punch all switches, to never shoot where I could use grenades, to admit the existence of no level except Total Carnage, to never use caps lock as my "run" key, and to never, ever, leave a single BoB alive."

2B || !2B - Why don't you look Inside the Machine?

Okay I was walking in a book-store one day and I found this book called "Consider Phlebas" it is a Sci-fi and it looked odd, because it portrayed what looked like a Halo like ring on it with Forefunner like inscriptions. And it was written well before Halo was, it's copyright was in 1987. So I figured it might have something to do with Halo...so here is a picture of the Cover Page.

Te ll me what you think

I am not...I really need to read this book so I can tell. But what is everyone else's opinion?

HOLY CRAP! Recon...that is amazing information! Louis Wu is a character from that book and it is also the Nickname for the dude at HBO! This is a conspiracy of fiction.

Or, some people just read more books than others.

It's not meant as a burn. Not at all. (forgive me if it came across that way)

For example, Louis Wu (of HBO fame) is a very smart and very well-read man. Add to that all of the cool things that he has done for the community and he is almost of fictional proportions himself. Most impressive that he's actually a real guy.

The Bungie team are also very up on literature, art, mythology and other things that most gamers would have never considered.

No offense taken, we are cool. I would figure that they are well read and educated, just by their speech and usage of innuendos in Halo and Halo 2. Take the most obvious: The Spartans...I really wish to become educated as them in that field...but that is for some other rant. But I agree with you Recon, you are very wise. And I would have never considered Louis Wu being as smart as you say, of course I am not saying he is dumb...I just figured that he was your average 40 + year old fan with website and money. *No offense Louis or Bungie :) We can smokem piece pipe if you would like?* But I agree with you Recon, you're dead on man/dude.

Hehe. I do vaguely remember something on HBO where Louis Wu had said something about where that name had come from... But I never bothered to check out the novel. I'm very sure he didn't say anything along the lines of 'ringworld' either...
As my friend must yell, "It's a CONSPIRACY!!" (To him, school's a conspiracy.)
