Subject: Mysterious New Website Released by Bungie?

:P

GameInformer stated, "Two days ago we brought you news about a shell company Bungie set up to trademark the term "Destiny," the rumored name of the sci-fi MMO the company is reportedly working on. Today that company has a new website, with the most absurd countdown timer we've seen yet.

Bungie's dummy company is called Podophobia Entertainment, and its newly-published website is a stark white page with a countdown timer -- a timer that is currently counting down to 117 days from now. The only other thing that appears on the website is a message that alternates between "Please Wait..." and "Incoming Transmission..."

What does it all mean? Your guess is as good as ours, but we'll be sure to update you 117 days from now.
"

Here's the link to the page.

What do you guys think?

Something must be going down then.

Possibly HALO THE MOVIE?
No, for many legitimate reasons.

If it was a new Halo, it would've been created by 343, but then again you never know, maybe they teamed up to create something, idk.

It definitely has something to do with Halo.

I'll post here what I posted in the thread in The Screw. Long story short,
THIS IS SUPER FAKE

Let me shut this down before it gets out of hand like that fake Aerospace site did.

First, let's try a quick whois search on the website!

Hmm, sure looks like someone just saw the Podophobia information on HBO the other day and quickly registered the site. If this had been created by Bungie it would have been set up a long time ago in preparation for it's use. Remember, Podophobia only exixsts as a dummp company to prevent information from trademarks and url registration from leaking out to the public ahead of schedule.

Let's dig a little deeper, and see what else we can find.

Administrative Contact Information:

The registrant has no name listed, but his contact email is; and it leads us to GSY Gaming.

All we have here is a case of the owner of a small gaming website trying to draw some attention by quickly registering a url that's likely to be found by Bungie fans searching for info on a new game. Nothing more. Please don't let this gain the attention the old, fake Aerospace site did, this will be just as big a disappointment.

Let's just all ignore this fake site and move forward.

actually it would be September 17th because right now it's 117 days 1 hr. on eastern time it will be the 23rd in an hr.

you guys remember what came out September 17th?

Bungieaerospace.com is real, and is owned by Bungie.

Not too long ago, a site similar to this one called Bungieaerospace.org appeared, with a countdown timer. It turned out to be an unofficial, fanmade site designed to troll people with a countdown to noting.

Like the Bungieaerospace.org site, Podophobiaentertainment.com is fake, as shown in my above post.

  • 05.22.2011 8:39 PM PDT

Yeah, I think it was taken down not too long after the owner was revealed to be a troll.

Here's the whois page for aerospace.org, by the way.

It's currently listed as inactive.

Only 116 days 16 hours and 23 minutes left. I can't wait much longer.

On a more serious note: I quess we just have to wait and see what happens.

P.S. Of course it had to start from 117. Why not just 77, it's much closer.

It is possible to commit no errors and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life.

Cheeto is the only one among you that doesn't suck.

I'd imagine it would be related to the new IP. That's the day after the release of the Halo: CE remake.
