Subject: Question about the 2010 rereleases of the original Halo books

I like Call of Duty and Gears of War, AND Halo. Why must everyone else like only one or the other?

First off, I did do a search for this and couldn't find anything like what I'm going to ask, so sorry if this has already been discussed in a different thread. So, I'm curious what exactly is different in the new versions? I already know that they all have an extra section at the end but is there anything else different? I've read that the Definitive Edition of First Strike has some changes in the main story itself, like rewording Halsey's words about the Covenant assault on Reach so as to fit with Halo Reach better, and the Cortana fragment doesn't say that we've never encountered Brutes before.

Is there anything similar in the Flood rerelease (and are there any other changes in FS like those listed above)? Are spelling and grammar errors corrected? (This has been my biggest complaint with the original books, way too many errors) I'm not so interested about the Fall of Reach rerelease, given that there's the Definitive Edition coming out soon for it.

TFoR has 40 more pages, and they changed the pelican to an arbatros or something (the large thing on sandtrap.)

Thats all I know.

I don't quite remember, but I'm pretty sure the new First Strike fixed the whole, "This pelican is a longsword. wait, now it's a pelican again. Yep, still a pelican. Or was it a longsword?" thing that was going on in the start of the book.

It was also on the map Relic in Halo 2.

Excellent. It's things like this that I want to hear. Can't tell you how many little things like that would always get on my nerves whenever I'd read through the books. I think I'll pick up the rerelease of First Strike sometime in the future. I'll hold back on FoR, given the definitive edition for that is still yet to come. (I wonder if I should do the same for The Flood as well? Though I am unsure if a definitive edition would be released for it, given that it's Fall of Reach and First Strike that would need to be altered for them to fit with the destruction of canon that Reach did, not The Flood.)

It's impossible for the sun to randomly combust without reason. It needs to burn out it's fuel first which should take 20 or so billion years. An alinement of the Sun, moon, and Earth doesn't make the Sun explode.

It( the Sun and all the planets alligning) happens once every 100 years.

I also heard from this one guy yesterday who said that the Sun exploded 19 years ago and next year is when the explosion will reach us. He thinks that because the Sun is supposedly 3 light years away from the Earth. Yeah, I know. If the Milky Way is 100,000 light years across, then how would we compare to being 3 light years away from the Sun. Sometimes I lose hope for this new generation. LOL I'm part of it!

WTF?

Funny, I've never noticed that until you mentioned it.

And believe it or not you can look up summarys of what is new on halopedian. one of the few times they deserve being referred to.

Whenever I go to the various pages for the books on Halopedian I only see two different things referencing the 2010 editions: the section 2010 bonus content, which of course briefly describes the content of the new Adjunct sections for the books, and under trivia, where it mentions a couple differences for First Strike, but mostly talks about the new cover art for all three. (That's where I saw the change of the Cortana fragment's mention of never seeing Brutes before being mentioned)
