Subject: Halo 3: ODST Epilogue, is it possible?

The epilogue takes place one month after drop, and as from what I can figure out, the game takes place from half way through Halo 2 and ends halfway through Halo 3, so surely, SGT Johnson would be on the Ark instead of talking to Virgil?

Any explanation, I'd love to know!

"For us, the storm has passed. The war is over. And let us never forget those who journeyed into the howling dark, and did not return. For their decision required courage beyond measure. Sacrifice, an unshakable conviction that their fight... our fight... was elsewhere. As we start to rebuild, this hillside will remain barren, a memorial to heroes fallen. They ennobled all of us, and they shall not be forgotten."

It ends before Halo 3 starts, thats how the UNSC learns the Covenant's intentions and about the Ark.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

All throughout history great empires rise and fall. How you ask?
Two reasons:
1. Economic failure because of either inflation or socialistic programs.
2. War. Their armies were spread too thin and too far from home.

The United States has bases all around the world in "hazardous" areas and it's economy collapses it seems every 20 years. Do you really think that history won't change? Do you really think that you can run the world?
