This isn't anything to do with the topic, but in stead of making a new thread-

On the cover of Ghosts of Onyx, what rifles are the EVA-wearing Spartan and the Mark V-wearing Spartan carrying? They look like BR's, but the barells look too short.

MA3A Assault Rifle, I think.

I think it was the MA5K, which was the shortened, carbine version of the regular MA5C/B.

And, Emile, Carter, Jun and every member of Noble Team (save for Jorge of course) were taken out of their companies because they matched Spartan II genetic properties, so they were deemed to valuable to be sent to suicide missions.

Out of curiosity where is that said?

My understanding was that they were pulled out of their companies (along with all the other SIIIs that would be slated for other duties such as the headhunters) for having outstanding combat records. Now if I'm mistaken it's fine by me, though I would like to know the source for the correct reasoning behind this.

Here's the article.

Ah I see. You're referring to the line where Kurt mentions "we wind up with some that she would have chosen" yes?

Hmm...reading through this again I'm rather curious when adding in the mention of several successful recon teams (the basis for my original understanding) which I can't help but presume (terrible thing to do here I'm aware) refer to the headhunters and other pulled out IIIs, and if they also fill the criteria Halsey set out. Even then, I wonder what separates the Headhunters from the heavier MJOLNIR equipped Noble, and if more teams outfitted like Noble exist...I suppose time will tell if Traviss decides to get into it.

Personally I think the Headhunters might be a mix of IIIs that fit the qualifications for being a Spartan II, and some like Tom and Lucy who are "normal" but are the best of the best of the "normal" SIIIs. I don't know if that made any sense or not :P

I think Headhunters are better trained with stealth as opposed to MJOLNIR clad Spartan III's whom are better at direct combat. But that's just my guess, it could be anything.

We are all going to get banned aren't we?

He was 11 when his training started, let alone when he got the augments.

Again this is old.

We have long came to the "agreement" that carter and the others must have traveled alot in slipspace. which is why at face value they may be 11, but are actually a few years younger.

I don't think Eric Nylund works at Bungie (not to my knowledge at least), but he did do at least work to some capacity on Halo: Reach's story.

I believe Eric is employed at 343 actually. There was interviews on Waypoint with him and I think I remember him referring to himself as a 343 employee.

Anyway, Nylund's name is only in the Reach credits because of his work on Halsey's Journal.

Yeah, so we'll all have to wait and see what the official stance on that is eventually. I think the new question that would rise up is how any SIIIs outside of their respective companies would exist to fill in the roles of headhunters, MJOLNIR equipped IIIs, and any other categories in between. There must certainly be quite a few considering that nearly all of Noble Team had been replaced save for Kat and Carter with more SIIIs available for rotation into the squad if need be.

Do headhunters have MJOLNIR? They have energy shields and motion trackers.

It's obvious from the story that they wore MJOLNIR, however the upcoming motion comic has them mistakenly in SPI. Bollox to that.

Really? It didn't seem to me like they had Mjolner, it didn't seem like they had SPI either, but eh, idk, I don't remember the story all that well.

It states "power armour", "shields" and runs av-cam armour ability. If not MJOLNIR what else could it be?

I don't know, it does sound like Mjolner, and I said I didn't really remember the finer details of the story too well. It actually sounds like it could be Mjolner, but from what I remember of the descriptions and stuff it sounds like it might be some sort of hybrid like one of the guys in my fanfic has.

It's actually an advanced version of the SPI armor, they just added shields, motion tracker and "true" active camouflage. It's still as resistant as SPI in any other aspect.

Where in the story does it say that?

Oops, misunderstanding / I don't think it took place during halo 3. Halo 2 maybe...

Maybe. I really couldn't tell, unless someone could find out the month(s) that Halo 2 & 3 took place in. Because years won't make any difference (Reach, CE, 2, ODST, & 3 all took place in 2552)

2552

I don't know. Only Roland had the true AV-CAM. Jonah didn't have any camoflaugIng, not even SPI camo
