To me, the game would simply play out just like the mona lisa. There's only so much you can do with a derelict freighter in deadspace.
Maye something similar to that, such as you drop in for an op, and the covenant have already set a trap. Cue the retreat into whatever "safe" area you'd prefer. Squad gets locked in, survival horror begins. Hell, a swamp the likes of 343 fame, or a jungle would be great for a flood survival horror. Ambient noises, rustling bushes... never knowing.
*That's* the kind of survival horror the game should play on. One that keeps you on your toes, not the Doom 3/Deadspace "Boo! AAAHH!" scary. Make you feel very vulnerable.
