Although ping isn't significant during the speed test if you choose a server near you,
it really seems that a socalled good connex has a disadvantage when it comes to H3
opposed to let's say H2, for getting host.
My tests result in a top 3% worldwide ranking at speedtest.net concerning both up
and downloadspeed and I rarely get host as far as I can tell.
Heck, even when my buddies and I (we're in the same town!) join up via live to view
a film in the theater lobby I am ALWAYS refused host although they got pretty bad
connex compared to mine.
Now listen to this one:
When I got the shortest and best quality ethernet cable available and hooked up
directly to the modem I got host. So maybe that's a solution for the OP.
But don't ask me how that's technically of any relevance. How a long/poorquality cable
can play such a detrimental role in a not so unsignificant matter is beyond me.
And one more thing: for every 3000 miles or so you gotta add 100 ms ping to the xbox
live servers on the westcoast (that's where ping comes in play now).
So if you're in NY you get 100+ ms to xbox-live and in Europe 150+ and so on.
I don't buy into the foreign based live servers talk, until I get an official d'accord BTW.
That fact may play a role in this matter, too.
The networkcode of H3 is the least to blame IMHO
As for the ethernet cable, its only a 5 foot long one, my computer is right next to my xbox.
As far as the quality, I', not sure how good it is.
So that may be it.
