Does anyone even read these?

I love the idea for the message center.

Many will enter, only one will rise to the top and he might not even win....

I agree with everything that you posted, except the points and profile changes.

Nice idea, i'm saving this thread.

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

I like the message center ideas you have. That is basically how most smartphones are/can be setup for text messages and it flows nicely.

The other thing I like is your idea for profile comments. I would love to have it just to see what people put on mine.

I agree with most of these ideas. You can also find some more ideas in this thread.

It's not Hip-Hop, its Electro.... prick.

I don't know if I like your ideas. This sounds more like a Call of Duty game than a website. I don't feel the need to customize my member title or spend money to gain access to things on the website. I just like things the way they are.

Although I do like the idea of a chatbox for each forum. Sometimes I feel like it's impossible to connect with people. Although I know exactly why Bungie does not have a chatbox. It will be spammed and filled with the same pointless arguments that you see inside threads. Chatboxes work better with small websites and groups.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

I think adding any or all of these would only improve the look and feel of the forums.

Good ideas CG. Also hi, its been awhile.

I like many of your ideas, and I hope at least a few will be implemented when the site gets it's next overhaul.

MESSAGE CENTER :I would like the message center to look like a thread. The subject column would be removed and there would only be one message per user. You would be able to search for the username. On the left side, you could sort by Username or Last Reply. On the right side, you would see the messages between you and the user, which would look exactly like posts in a thread. You could delete any of the sent or received messages, but it would only affect your conversation thread.

Instead of having buttons after each message, there would be just one area above to submit a message (similar to the comments of file share items). The order of messages could be changed in the profile settings (oldest first, newest first). I wouldn't mind also having the option to message multiple users, thus having a thread for just those users.
The Waypoint forums have an interesting system that goes one better than what you have outlined. When you begin a private message you choose the recipients, this then generates your own private thread in which all replies can be seen and any new messages notify all initial recipients. Allowing for several users to contribute to one private message exchange is unnecessary and could create a number of problems, but allowing those exchanging PMs to see past replies in their own mini-thread would be a nifty little feature (albeit it more under the "that's cool category" than "we need this").

I'm down for it!

Without me, it's just "Aweso".

I'm all for every one of those ideas, especially those involving groups (Search function, Displaying Admin on the home page).

However, while I agree a system for allowing name changes should be implemented, I think it would be more helpful that in addition to displaying the fact that they changed their name on their profile page, there should be some sort of message or notification appearing on that person's title bar, or underneath their avatar, that displays something like "Formerly: ___________" or some abbreviated version which would only be present for a set amount of time after the change.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

Would one be able to change their display name as many times as they want? As long as they don't get banned or warned for a year?
I'm not really for the title system/Bungie point system you suggested. Apart from that I love the other ideas. Nice work and great thrad, Cryptic.

My sentiments exactly.

I really want Bungie to implement a name change system.

Improving the search feature would definitely encourage more users to actually use it, instead of ignore it completely due to it's simplicity at the moment. The message center idea, like Achilles said, is pretty similar to the some smartphones are set-up. This keeps all conversations flowing without the confusion of other PM's breaking the flow of the conversation.

I'm not a big fan of the "gamercard replacing gamertag" though. Isn't the gamercard already on the profile? I believe there is also an option to hide as well. Letting users change their display name would be too hectic. How would anyone recognize who anyone is if the username changes all the time. Maybe if there was also a feature that showed "Username History" showing all the past usernames that particular user has had, then it would be ok.

To be honest, I don't care much about the titles. The Bungie Point idea could work if the Points weren't being given away in large amounts for simple things such as "signing into an account X amount of days". As I've said before, I fully support the combination and reformation of the forum set-up. The only idea I like for the groups is the ability to "remove the request to join a group". The rest just make the group too complicated. If I wanted that, I would make a off-site website for the group.

And every one of the ideas in the last category would be great addition to the site as well.

Overall, most of these ideas would be greatly appreciated if implemented into Bungie.net.
