Subject: Is switching a good idea?

I am currently in the process of switching from my xbox days of playing all the Halo games to the PC (where I will play more Halo games) Good or bad idea? Plus if anyone can give suggestions on a newish/reliable computer it would greatly help me when I go to buy it at the store in August. Thanks =)

Halo PC - Yes if you can adapt to leading your shots (by a fair amount), its always a blast to play

Halo 2 Vista - This is down to your preference and can use a 360 controller to play the game. However its a buggy port and the population is around 50 at most for online. Don't expect any decent mods like the Xbox version either, the game had many features like the tag editor locked out too.

Most people will tell you to get Halo PC, myself included. However, Halo 2 Vista can be enjoyable at times and since you're coming from consoles, that MAY be a good place to start. However i recommend buying both but that is entirely up to you.

PC wise, how much money are you looking to spend on a PC?

I was going to post my suggestion, but apparently Wilis_kid is on the same page as I am, so, just take this post as a reassurance towards what he is saying.

Money really isn't an object to me since this laptop will be a graduation present from my parents but nothing way out there on price

Laptop? I wouldn't recommend one for playing games on. Whilst there are some out there that can, they can't be upgraded easily and may overheat, which happened to mine. I'd recommend a pc, upgradeable, more power for your buck. But if a laptops what you're after, then you need to make sure it has a fairly decent graphics card.

Just to add onto this, I'd suggest to go to this website: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/ to check if your laptop can play the games you want to buy. Never buy a game for the PC without checking for System Requirements. (This is after buying it btw)

Thats not a horrible deal for a prebuilt laptop
But you can build the same thing for 500 dollars on a desktop

^^ 'bout one and a half grand for a gaming laptop!? Go for desktop dude.

Oh the keyboard position must be awkward aswell on gaming laptops, I usually have my keyboard slightly to the left, more comfy

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

I paid $1,200 for my laptop. Runs any game under the sun cranked. I'd say it was a good purchase.

Of course, the girlfriend is the one that uses it the most. I usually game on my desktop.

I was thinking of getting something like this one with the i7 processor and I will NOT be playing on a desktop cuz that is too big for a small college dorm. But anyways I did find one like the link posted that was a Toshiba for $850. Anyone have a Toshiba laptop before?
