ok ive always wondered about when mc gets the data from keyes' head after he punches him.
he then shakes it a bit then shoves it into his own head. couldnt it be infected with the flood or something?

is mc infected?

No, it was just Captain Keyes' Neural Data Chip which he inserted into his suit; therefore giving Cortana the necessary codes required to activate the Pillar of Autumn's self-destruct sequence (which 343Guilty Spark promptly stops in 'The Maw').

it was just like the goop in keye's head, it was his brain, and no, it couldnt be the flood infection -blam!- on it because there is a layer between the suit and his head.

no mc is not infected with the flood you should already know that the flood infections can not get in mcs shields there for mc can not be infected plus he has a suit with lots of armor.

Idk if you guys read the books, but it explains how one is taken by the flood. A flood infection form penetraits the victim in the bacl of the neck, penetraing into the nervos system. Promptly taking control over the motor functions, and eventually wiping the subject mind clean to have complete control. It is not like an std, transfusable through bodily fluids. You need direct physical contact with a flood infection form.
