Exact science, is not an exact science.

All the branding of crappy toys and crappy books etc, it is easy to forget that it was ever a game at all.

Go back to your roots people and give us more GAME!

The "crappy books" have expanded the universe so much that the games would simply be another forgotten series that got mashed into oblivion by CoD without them.

The "crappy books" have influenced fans so much that it is suggested nearly everyday on these forums that certain books should be held in higher regard than certain games.

The "crappy toys" are most young children's first introduction into the series and will ultimately bring in more fans over the next decade than Halo has ever had to date.

Huh, not so crappy after all eh?

Bungie Pentathlon - who actually cares ?

I am not sure why a lot of people are suggesting that 343i will ruin Halo ? Are these the same people that went up in arms about Bungie developing for the PS3 ?

If you want to live in the past you can surround yourself with fuzzy, rose tinted memories of online Halo 2 etc and not settle for anything less - or you can look to the future and accept change.

343i will do literally everything it can to succeed.

Imagine how much pressure is on them to deliver ! Microsoft will be breathing down their necks as its the lead franchise, gamers will be hyping to the point of frothing at the mouth and add in the sceptics, Bungie only fan boys and a dose of unjustified negativity and you can see that the next big thing must succeed.

343i seem very very enthusiastic about the franchise and surely that can only bode well ?

AFK: Away from Kontroller. Don't do it or you'll get the living crap smacked out of you by the Banhammer. If you disagree with any of this, you are just bad at Mortal Kombat.

We will have to see won't we? 343 hasn't done anything big......yet.

  • 05.26.2011 2:13 AM PDT

No they won't.

343i is made up from ex Bungie personnel, some other big names from the industry (including composers of MGS and the director of Brothers in Arms and Borderlands.
They've already given us Legends, Evolutions, Cryptum, Wars (in combo with Ensemble), Waypoint, Defiant Mappack (in combo with Certain Affinity), Bloodlines etc etc etc.

They've shown to care a lot about Halos canon. More so than Bungie has over the last few years. They have a lot of very capable people on board to take over Reach and give us the rumoured CE remake and Halo "4".

No they will not screw up. But seeing as this community is never satisfied, common opinion will inevitably turn into: "OMG They sUck! Bungeee was bettar! Reach was teh best Halo evar!"

Gotta love personal insults when the window lickers run out of things to say.

If you are going to act like a fool take it to the Reach forum or the CoD forums.

Exact science, is not an exact science.

Not hating just pointing out that appointing yourself the judge of good taste based on a line from a crappy R&B song, is not the way to go!!

As for the idiot who cant see past his brainwashing, he should definately be set alight!! Lol

Just play the game.

and btw 343i will not ruin the series, they will keep the games as strong as EVAR!

You do realise that this particular forum is dedicated to discussing the universe of Halo (and other Bungie games) - which comes from both books and the games ? ....and yet you are here slating the books, suggesting that people do not read them ?

Silly sausage, back in the box you go.

I always liked the interactive AI in the halo games, like if you stare at them they would ask what your lookiing at and if you hit them they would say something. sometimes the AI seem to have a mind of their own and i can't wait to see 343's twist on it! ex: in halo 3 if you take away sgt. Johnson's weapon and betray a bunch of people, he will try to beat you up with his bare hands. Those are the glitches i like about the AI

What crappy R&B song are we on about now?

Brainwashed? Me? Nah. I do however appriceate that the Haloverse is so great because of all the accompanying material, not just the games which actually add very little substance.

Offical merchendise are perfect for getting the "young'ens" involved and books make for an intelligent, and more mature version of events for those capable of stringing a sentance together.

You seem to be forgetting that Halo is aimed at all age groups and has to cater for them all in order to be sucsessful. Bungie, and now 343i are not making Halo soley for you but for everybody.

This isn't a hard concept to grasp which makes me wonder why you are having so much difficulty understanding it.

  • 05.26.2011 3:52 AM PDT

Signatures are for squares.

It's going to be pretty hard for 343 to do a worse job than Bungie did with Reach.

I have a lot of faith in 343. Waypoint is cool, Evolutions was amazing, Cryptum was badass, Bloodlines and Bootcamp are great comics.
