Wake me when the jews are gone.

a game like the good old battlefield games (before BC) with 64 players without canpaing but with a detailed intel on every map like
-Reach protecting the ODP generator
-Sigma Octanus IV
-Harvest
-New Monbasa
-Cleveland
-Beta Gabriel
You could have units like
-scorpion
-revenant
-wraith
-locust
-vulture
-vanpire
and as fighters
-Longsword
-Seraph
you could also play some sort of Titan Mode

You are posting a thread that proposes throwing away the story aspect of the next Halo game in favour of multiplayer, in the Universe Forum?

This thread will be a success.

Oh i got an amazing idea for a new Halo game!

Grunts!

think about it. First mission would be like a slave worker grunt who enlist.
And then you move up the ranks until you serve aboard Covie cruisers. You become Captain Rank.

And the time period could be During installation 04.

OH OH And the last few missions could be how you and your platoon chase down master chief trying to kill him on the ring.

And the last mission could be called "lone wolf Grunt" and you stand alone, your platoon dead (partly cause you got stuck and ran into them, partly cause chief pistol them). you can see pillar exploding in the background. You run from the explosion for your life

And you can make out in the back ground srgt jonson hugging the elite and the elite puts his hand on jonsons ass (that was awkward)

Then the ring explodes and the Grunt you play as dies and no one gives a damn LOLOL

[sarcasm]

o_O

Please bungie, don't get any ideas...

You were totally and absolutely correct in every way, I don't know why we were arguing, you're so amazing I should never have doubted you.

It was ripping off other games (Shadowrun, Call of Duty, et cetera) that made Reach flop as hard as it did. Main Halo games should adhere to the formula, unless they're strictly single player (ODST) or a spin-off (Wars).

The balance of forces established in Combat Evolved to this day remains the most balanced, fun gameplay for any Halo game.

I'd give a damn. Actually, I'd cry like a little girl.

On topic: Halo should never, ever be multiplayer only. The story aspect is just too valuable.

This is true. A strong narrative is one of the defining aspects of the Halo trilogy, and should remain a major focus in future sequels. Less Hollywood B-list crap though, Reach gave way too much of it.

Fun fact:
Combat Evolved was the least beta tested between 2/3/reach.
In fact, it was completely rushed so xbox would have a launch title.

bungie never wanted it to be a game of balance forces. They wanted it to be a quick, shoot em down style game. Im pretty sure if they had more time, Halo CE would not be what it was.
for one, graphics woulda been improved.
Likely, they would have not incorporated the pistol as a last minute sniper counter weapon. It would have essentially been what Halo 2 is. But lack of time meant getting the game out.

why does everyone think the pistol isnt in 2/3/Reach? it was too powerful. It was a gun that took skill to use and separated noobs from elites.
bungie didn't want that - they want noobs and elites to kill each other alike! Hence double wield, increased needler, sword, Lunge whack, brute/concussion shot.
And now, armor abilities.

Halo Reach is the perfect Halo - that bunie always wanted.

Source..?

I don't have a source, since ive known this for years, ever since i starting playing back in 2002 (and Ran my Game Store)

But i can tell you, using Google, and dig deep enough, you will find all the dirty little secrets behind Halo CE.

...
Or i could just tell you.

Halo CE originally wasn't going to be what it was. While bungie yes had the very intention of creating it, their Budget didn't allow for the graphics and well designed Game engine.

While many people believe Halo was to be a PC game, Bungie had every intention of moving it to the Play Station 2. common reason for developers choosing PS2 was the large sales for that console.
(Xbox and Game cube both sold under 30Mil units world wide, while PS2 sold brilliantly over 120M) .. and still selling o_O

Halo was to be in production for more years, and would LIKELY, not saying it would have, but LIKELY would have launched somewhere around 2003, when bungie could afford to complete it.

It wasn't until Late 2000 Microsoft Debut the Xbox mighty console, and Sega dropped their pants and pulled Dream Cast (currently 10.1Mil sales ... stupid mistake Sega) from the market.

with all the hype of xbox and Lack luster LAUNCH titles, Microsoft needed a system Seller, but didn't have one.

Weather or not bungie approached Microsoft, or Vice versa, isn't to my memory. All i remember was Halo got announced at E3, (electronics Entertainment Expo) and every Kid in town jizzed their pants.

Problems occurred when Microsoft needed Halo for Launch. bungie couldn't do it. I remember Daily Radar reporting something like frustration rises as Bungie pushes Halo for Fall 2001. Bungie Had a deadline they had to meet (very hard on a software development company, ill say that)

It was common knowledge bungie was not only being funded, but Halo was co developed with MICROSOFT GAME STUDIOS. Microsoft gave credit to bungie, but don't overlook the MS game studios icon on the front cover of Halo. Its there because they assisted.

So Halo CE was rushed bad. Little beta testing (i remember reading on that too) was done. And with TONS of ads on T.V., papers, movie theaters (all paid by MS), The Launch of Halo was a success, Breaking launch sales records for any FPS.

Bungie couldn't have gotten it out in time without assistance from MS game studios. And that's what they hate.
That's why Bungie Hates Halo CE. Its not their game. It was supposed to be, but it was rushed and part MS Game studios game.

I remember tons of Game critics talking about how Bungie wasn't getting along with Microsoft (even before Halo 2). Bad blood from the start.

think it had something to do with Halo? [obvious sarcasm]
