I'm not sure this ad says anything. I mean, they can't ask for Xbox 360 programmers, since that barely exists. However, if they are looking for Xbox 360 programmers they might start looking in the group of people with PC programming experience.
He's got a point. Who here has "Xbox360 Programming Experience" on their resume?
Besides, what software does the 360 run? Anyone?
Hint: The 360 is a Microsoft product.
No-one?
From what I understand, which is probably a whole lot less than I profess, most of the code for the 360 and it's games, are derived from the Visual Studio package. We're talking C++, .NET, etc.
This programming package was originally designed for coding on PCs. What is the Xbox (Original or 360)? A console-ized PC. It's got PC hardware, so we know that the hardware can communicate with "PC" software, especially MS software. Therefore, in asking for persons with PC programming experince to apply, Bungie/MS can increase their talent pool of applicants, rather than the maybe one or two people who would be qualified to apply for an X360 programming job
And there you have it.
