They call me The Raptor due to my extreme interest in dinosaurs specifically velociraptor.

There is basicly no punishment for quitting multiplayer games (wow 15 minutes is nothing) and they constantly ruin my games, my teammates games and the games of the people left on the other team and thats alot of people as I usually play BTB with a full party of 8 high ranked players. We destroy and they always quit. Games turn into hide and seek and chasey with 8 on 2 which ruins our game and the poor bastards that dont quit. Not as bad if its flag or bomb as we can end it quickly but games of slayer when we have like 30 kills, 10 minutes left and 2 people who wont quit no matter how bad we spawn kill them. This is not fun for us or them. Please increase the punishment for habitual quitters as its ruining hundreds of games for thousand of players, probly alot more than afking.

Afk'ing is NOT ruining my game and if it was its Bungies own fault for rewarding people doing nothing.
More kills and credits for me, a distraction for my enemies/ someone else for them to go after.

I dont like them earning free credits but thats the systems fault for allowing that.

Something I posted in another thread: Bungie knowingly pay their gamers credits for doing nothing and even promote them then after 8 months decide they didnt like paying them for nothing so they demote you back to a nobody, take any money you earned (even the money earned for many hours of working), anything you bought with the money and say you can work but wont get any credits for 2 weeks.

A high rank does not always mean better by the way.

All the people I have spoken to agree that MM quitter is whats ruining our gaming experience not FF afk'ers. These people are going basicly unpunished while afk'ers get owned badly.

And from the perspective of the quitter (which I am not one but I can find more reason to it), the -blam!-s that insist on spawncamping, objective holding, and doing any number of unkindly and unreasonable things to them are what's ruining their gaming experiences. Yet, you dip-blam!-s don't get punished for what you do, because hey "it's just part of the game. Never mind how other people feel about it."

And so is the quit button. It's the check against bad matching, bad behavior, or whatever else have you in the line of "a generally -blam!- game." Restrict it, and you unbalance the system in favor of that -blam!-iness. Lax it, and while you don't directly cater to whiny bastards who must be allowed to take their +15 newb pwning "rampage" to the fullest extent possible to prove just how much of a man they are (and to hell, again, with how anyone else may feel about that), it's not as if we're loosing anything of any real value in the exchange.

On the one hand we have reasonable games, if a bit short at times, and on the other we have a hell of unrestricted schadenfreude. Not a hard call to make, by any stretch of the imagination.

So you quit when beaten? Your pathetic. Spawn killing is a result of 1 team pushing forward, beating the other team all the way back to their spawn and pushing into their base, name 1 team that takes control of the map and waits in the middle for the other team to organise another attack if you can find a team they are probly all bad. Its not spawn killing its map control. Spawn killing is like 1 person purposly going behind their base with a sniper and picking them off when they spawn, we control the whole map, its ours, even thier spawns. There are many ways to break a spawn trap if your team is decent if not you will continue to get punished for being bad. Quitting is only accepting your inferiority and labeling yourself as a loser. Have a go.

New Zealand is pretty much the best place in the world.

Yea I just had a game before and half the other team quit even though there was just 3 of us searching, its getting really annoying and people just do it to freely, Ive even seen posts on the flood about what people do in there 15 min bans

  • 05.28.2011 11:41 PM PDT

Players LOVE their credits in this game Team Classic is a perfect example of that. Any other time the playlist is dead but since it's super jackpot weekend it's alive and well. When people quit credits should be taken away.

Yeah 15 minute quit ban is a joke while afk resets are a bit harsh. problem Bungie?

  • 05.29.2011 12:07 AM PDT

Teams of 8 should only vs other teams of 8. Its impossible for a bunch of randoms to co ordinate themselves against a team of 8 that have rehearsed spawn traps since day one.

Quitters only annoy me when they quit in the lobby and don't even try, thats just weak

that real funny u addressed the spawn camping issue but didnt bother about the objective side of it if ur team is in full control of the map yet u just keep on killing instead of ending the game be it bomb or flag theni feel that people qiting out on u and ur team is good advice any one who can control a map with an objective should be able to just win and get it over with the fact u and ur team just score once then go for kills for the next 10 mins well wth do u expect, ohyeah then they add u as a bad rep

  • 05.29.2011 12:16 AM PDT

This is why Halo needs to give the option to join matches mid-game. Not only would it help with people quitting because someone can fill in the empty slot but it will also make matchmaking go faster since instead of looking just for people in the lobby it will look for people in the lobby and people in game. Gears of War 2 added the ability to join games mid-match well after launch lets see if Halo Reach can get the same treatment.

"Team work is a part of playing the game, learn to use it."

The only problem I get with quiting is in Squad slayer. That happens when the team is down like 14-2. Not Joking.

The only reason there are so many quitters in BTB is because there is 15 other people in there, most likely few not exactly the most "skilled" however there are more people per game to quit and though it is a problem considering Reach quitters are usually the hosts too, so this does get anoying but the simple fact remains that the mass of players at a time could have to go for a variation of reasons.

He who plays big team slayer in teams dislikes having serious competition, since there are really so few teams out there and I've noticed it doesn't even try to pair you with other full teams.

Play squad slayer, dont be a douche bag. If the other team still quits, well then, that sucks.

  • 05.29.2011 12:43 AM PDT

You should run with a full team.

  • 05.29.2011 12:47 AM PDT

i'm pretty sure the ban gets longer the more u quit, so like the first couple times is a 15 min ban, but then it just gets longer and longer...I think...

Lol u have no idea. I play basketball, work, live in my own home and play Halo on my own big LCD screen in my own loungroom.
Your just jelly and are probly really bad and thats why ur GT isnt linked.

You don't care about people quitting. You just wanted to be able to say "0mGg iiM iiN a cLaN aNdd ii PPPPWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNN".

If you honestly think that people quit because your clan is decimating them, how about you just don't play in a full party, or you go to squad slayer where you're more likely to be paired against other "1337 cl4nz0rz!!11!1!1"

Im not in a clan I just play with friends and good players.
Not searching with a full party is a no no as randoms screw the game up more than anything but thats another story.
We have played squad slayer a bit and enjoyed it, would play it more but being in Australia and the playlists low population make for laggy games.

What I said above applies here too. We usually have plenty of people wanting to join so we usually do play BTB. We are also not just vehicle whores as we love Trident and Wayont as DMR battles are good on thoses maps. People still quit agaisnt us in Squad or normal slayer when getting beaten badly its so frustating.

Your loyalty and skill will be tested

so u think the quit ban should be bigger yet u complain about people NOT quiting isn't that hypocritical

  • 05.29.2011 2:51 AM PDT

I don't much like quitters either, OP, but I think you're being a bit harsh on the issue. Your main complaint is that people quit out on the other team, ruining your fun, but it begins when you ruin theirs. Perhaps you play the game as a test of your skill, but to most of us, it's a video game, played for fun. If you're not having fun, it's a waste of real-world time to stay in the game.

That said, I usually try to make an effort even if I'm the only one left.

It's just silly to call quitters "bad", as that implies that everyone thinks their Halo skill has real world importance. If it does to you, that's cool, but you can't assume the same for everyone else.

  • 05.29.2011 2:58 AM PDT

Jamage I was in a game against you the other day and me and my friend were the only ones left on our team that didn't leave or go AFK.

And if you hate being on the side with the team who is decimating try being on the side who is getting spawn camped.

How ever I still think if you can muster a whole team you do deserve an advantage, its just frustrating when paired with brain dead idiots.

I didnt do that. I think your refering to when I was talking about the poor bastards that wont quit no matter how much we spawn kill them. I agree with what someone else said that the the last couple of people should shouldnt really be penalised as they are just ending a game that went horrible due to the other quitters. maybe like last 20-25% of player remaining should be allowed to quit so like 1 remaining in 4v4, 5v5 and 2 remaining in 6v6-8v8.

Quiiters ruin our fun and the remaining enemy players fun.
I do have fun until quiiters ruin my games..... THATS THE DAM POINT Do losing sports teams just walk off? Even amatuer levels where people are playing just to have fun? No they usually dont from my experience.
You dont have to win to have fun you know.
Quiiters are bad at Halo usually yes and thats what I meant I dont think people are bad at other things just coz there bad at Halo (although some people just seem so retarded you have a good feeling they fail at most things).
