I'd rather quit than sit frustrated while you spawn trap me. Spawn trapping is not being good at the game it's manipulating a flawed system and I play for fun not so you can have fun at my expense. I compare spawn trapping to bullying and personally the fact that you gloat over it sickens me and then piss and moan when people get fed up with teams like yours.
I just quit a game last night due to lag or some other questionable thing...sworded a guy...no death...immediately stuck him on the head...he throws a sticky behind me...his head explodes...he still does not die...the sticky 5 feet behind me blows up and i immediately die...sorry...big question mark for me and I just don't give anyone that satisfaction. My choice.

It's obvious you guys are good at Halo and that's certainly one thing...but spawn trapping is another and to me..you do it to purposely frustrate other teams..GOOD JOB.

So on that note...if my quitting your game pisses you off then I guess I'm just getting even with people who memorize every spawn point and try to get their team in exact placements so we spawn directly in front of your scoped sniper rifle. This is me showing you my bird....

There is basicly no punishment for quitting multiplayer games (wow 15 minutes is nothing) and they constantly ruin my games, my teammates games and the games of the people left on the other team and thats alot of people as I usually play BTB with a full party of 8 high ranked players. We destroy and they always quit. Games turn into hide and seek and chasey with 8 on 2 which ruins our game and the poor bastards that dont quit. Not as bad if its flag or bomb as we can end it quickly but games of slayer when we have like 30 kills, 10 minutes left and 2 people who wont quit no matter how bad we spawn kill them. This is not fun for us or them. Please increase the punishment for habitual quitters as its ruining hundreds of games for thousand of players, probly alot more than afking.

Quitters are a problem in every team playlist not just btb and not just against full parties.

Afk'ing is NOT ruining my game and if it was its Bungies own fault for rewarding people doing nothing.
More kills and credits for me, a distraction for my enemies/ someone else for them to go after.

I dont like them earning free credits but thats the systems fault for allowing that.

Something I posted in another thread: Bungie knowingly pay their gamers credits for doing nothing and even promote them then after 8 months decide they didnt like paying them for nothing so they demote you back to a nobody, take any money you earned (even the money earned for many hours of working), anything you bought with the money and say you can work but wont get any credits for 2 weeks.

Edit 1: Examples
It seems to be getting worse. Here's just a couple of examples from the last couple of hours:
http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/GameStats.aspx?gameid=62625 3893&player=Jamage007
They all quit within a couple of minutes.

http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/GameStats.aspx?gameid=62630 1274&player=Jamage007
They quit 1 by 1 until there was only 1 guy left and it was slayer so we all had to kill 1 guy until the game was over.

Edit 2: The Revenge/The Test
When we came across a few people that quit on us earlier and a habit quitter we decided to do a test and get some revengeon them so 7 of us hid while the other went to take on the other team 7v1 to see if 1 person could break a spawn trap.
With the rest of us hiding and them only taking on 1 person they didnt seem to quit.
Funny thing is the guy by himself broke the spawn trap and started killing them alot more than they were killing him.
Now one of them quits but the rest stayed.
Since our guy was doing well in a 7v1 situation we stayed hidden to see how this played out. Our Guy went 41 kills 4 deaths, broke a spawn trap and beat a team of 8 singlehandedly.

Thats proof that spawn traps can be broken so please people play on. Not everyone is as good as him but a whole team that stays should be able to do it or at least try and give us some competition.

TLDR: MM quitters are ruinng my game not FF afk'ers and all bungie care about is FF afk'ing not the real thing thats ruining games.

/agreed people who quit ruin the game, mean while people who AFK give me free kills. (although when i find someone AFK i try to lead the enemy AI's to him so he dies allot and might get caught.

Remember Elk

The fun thing is that they leave and then come here to complain about getting spawn killed and probation banned after they left your game.

I find this whole topic a fun thing. Normally, I hate it when people quit off of my team...but I think I find people who take this game so serious that they memorize and manipulate the spawn system to dominate even more annoying than those who quit out because of it.

Agreed!

What gets me is they did it in Halo 3 too and they all said "if you don't like it quit." Now people are listening to their advice they are crying about it.

If you don't want people to quit, be a man and actually give the the other guy a sporting chance, spawn killing is just for -blam!- who are scared of a real fight.

  • 08.24.2011 6:27 AM PDT

If you want people to stop quitting, then make it where every time you quit you lose 15,000 CR.

That would probably stop half of them.

  • 08.24.2011 7:15 AM PDT

You would think that Bungie would have allowed a system where anyone could join/leave at anytime.

Have you ever seen the blast radius of an actual plasma grenade?

the reason they do this is because bung was stupid enough to give points to the losers....and the exact same amount of points to the winners.

I maintain the right to quit if I want to.

Say something really important comes up, guess what, I'm going to quit.

I get bored or some of my buddies get online for some Reach, I'll quit.

I just feel like playing matchmaking, I'll quit.

Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

All I see here, are a bunch of homos getting upset over numbers.

Why does the quit ban exist?

So these -blam!- losers can force you to stay in a match so they'll have a bigger K/D ratio to jerk off too.
And if you don't like it, you shouldn't be playing Halo.
Cause obviously, their K/D, W/L ratios are more important than you.

It's because of their stupid fascination with W/L number, that Halo doesn't have a join in progress feature.

How dumb is that?

How dumb do you have to be to think that you can FORCE everyone to play up to YOUR standards of competitive gaming?

Quit forcing everyone play like its a -blam!- JOB!

Quitting is not the problem. The problem is the person's attitude toward the game they play. A negative attitude equals a negative gameplay experience; a positive attitude equals a positive experience. All rage quitters have a negative attitude towards the game. Even the great Jamage007, who does not rage quit, has displayed his negative attitude towards the game and his fellow gamers in this forum. Funny thing is that if everyone was able to have a positive attitude while playing the game, there would be no issues with quitting. The only "quitters" would be persons who lag out and persons who had to leave for one reason or another. Its actually hysterically funny if you think about it. LOL

Probation is only after you have left a few games and its not even really punishment.

Possibly the worst idea i have ever read. Just becuase people may not quit against you does not mean you should leave one team searching for hours on end to only then start the game and then everyone quits anyway.

Once versing Eg: Jamage's team once, players would back out instantly when they see there names pop up. Increasing search times stupendously.

So ... you would rather people continue to quit an existing games and leave one team short on players ???

You are NOT going to stop people quitting.
At least if you know you are going to be matched up against someone half way around the world (on a laggy connection to start with) you can back out and let another local player take your place. If no-one want to play with them there is generally a good reason.

If people are leaving because they dont like the other gamer, then save them the job of quitting and upsetting the games obvious delicate balance ... let them leave before the game rather than quit out during.
