If you increase the penalty, then player count will decrease. Yeah, you may get to force people to stay in the game or face consequences, but they will be driven away by the harshness of it, especially if they finally do quit and are told they have to wait an hour. Suffer through a spawn trap or be banned from matchmaking... I'd quit Halo.

However, here's a better idea. If I wanted to quit from a Halo 3 game, I would accept the negative experience, albeit begrudgingly. If it were down to me vs. a whole team, yeah screw that, I'll go. I won't do it in Reach, because if I make a habit of it, I get screwed by a quit ban. So, instead of increasing the penalty, make it a cR penalty. Folks may be more inclined to just quit and not waste your time.

Some people will complain about quitters, while others complain about people who waste time staying in the game. If a whole enemy team quits, it's really less noticeable overall, cause you just move on to the next game. So turn DOWN the punishment or change it to something that doesn't ban players. IMO

LOL how?

Stupid and hypocritical - lol.

For starters;
a) you have quit, and both your main account and your booster.
b) and then your rant about "bad internet connection, you deserve the ban" ... but yet feel this doesnt apply to you, and that your noise loaded copper link is Ok.

Or perhaps it was your credit farming ...
Or perhaps how YOU team spawn trap ...
Or power weapon style of team play.

So many options ... not sure why you asked "how".

Best solution, make teams of 8 play teams of 8. Oh wait, this game blows and it's a rare case you can even find a group of more then 4 playing together you'd never get a matchup.

If you're worried about (doing to well) lol, then break your team of 8 up and go playing BTB in groups of 4. You might even play your other set to make some good games.

The problem is the game itself. I don't play the game that much, 1-5 games maybe a day just to burn some late night time. I always play solo because none of my friends play this -blam!- game.

reasons i quit
1) bulltrue bull-blam!- when im on a high spree (living dead)
2)spawn killing

if i have a terrible team, all the better for me to get more kills, i was in a game of SWAT, i was the only one left on my team and still battled to the end with a score of something like 46-50. My k/d was still positive so there you go

  • 10.26.2011 8:41 AM PDT

swat is different than squad if your team quit in swat you should have the advantage if played right

I thought otherwise until I started playing Multiplayer a lot more often. Man, OP, are you right.

Just another -blam!- up in Reach.

Trust me teams of 8 get matched up agaisnt other teams of 8 quite alot. If I see another group of friends in a party of 8 searching at the same time we are we will almost always get them. Its all the randoms fault who go into a team of 8 playlist with 1-3 people. Get some more friends and then go into btb or stop complaining and quitting.

Like ive said before. If your going to be selfish like that you can either play rumble pit or suffer the quitting consequenses.
Team playlist's are for team players.

I think H3 had a better grip on its players than Reach does. In H3 if you quit a game you lost EXP and if done enough times, you were de-leveled or de-ranked. Reach should have done this. Now people can quit as many times as they want without losing they're rank or Cr. If that were the case, people would be more cautious about quiting. Tisk tisk Bungie.

It's just as relevant as you calling me out on it.

RIP Bungie Service Records. You shall be missed.

Bungie is no longer managing the Halo Universe. While our Halo-related forums and stats remain available, be advised that "official" answers and support about the Halo Universe (past, present, or future) are not.

Yeah Halo 3's system worked better.

Jamage007.. with all do respect, the examples you gave were unevenly matched games. I probably would have quit too. 'Casual gamers' vs. 'gamers who have nothing better to do'? No thanks.

I am willing to play a losing game on an even team, but not everybody wants to do that. If it starts to look futile, it usually is. Obviously, I would much rather waste my time on a game that is geared in my favor.

And it doesn't help the situation any, to be the last one on the opposing team getting teabagged like crazy. That is just no fun, and is not the reason I turned to my 360 for.

But I agree, the quitters have been insanely repetitive here lately.. especially with Anniversary just around the corner.

lol @ this 'get some friends' bull-blam!- that fools continue to spew. We have friends. Maybe not all of them are playing Halo: Reach 24/7 like you and I?

I've probably dashboarded/quit from 75% of my games tonight, and I could be here the rest of the night explaining why. But to sum it up, no I don't want to play against a party of 7+ THREE TIMES In A ROW when I'm searching in BTB alone, and no, I'm not staying in a game of SWAT where my headshots make dudes twitch, while there headshots leave me dead.

343 redesigning the quit system is probably the tip of the iceberg regarding the -blam!- this game needs fixed.
