9/14/10 The fall of reach
I can agree that quitters are an issue and that more severe punishments should be enforced.
- They are put against more highly skilled players. But this isn't a matchmaking issue, and it's nothing that can be solved.
- Don't want to lose? Stop going it alone and gather a team; strength in numbers.
- Ten minute quit ban? It's really nothing for most players, I personally know a friend that quit a lot for numerous reaons, and it was nothing but continual 10-15 minute bans. It didn't bother him, in that time he would go make a sandwich or play a custom game.
- Bad connections? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can change your search restrictions to include only players with good connections. As for your own disconnections, you should be assured that nothing stands in the way of your own connection. Bandwidth hog? Too bad, you need to learn how to manage a network /rant
Here's what I think should be enforced:
- Longer quit bans: the more time that is left in that game, that many minutes is added to your temporary ban. Every time you quit within the same 24 hours you last quit, your temporary ban is doubled, then the multiplier is reset after those 24 hours.
- Set a number of quits allowed within the month, and if you pass that, you are either reset (this is pretty brutal) or cR banned; the latter being preferred.
- Lose credits. Maybe even lower your rank, similar to above.
What do you think?
