Putting "Quit Bans" on people in Reach - Did nothing.

Further attempts - Will do nothing.

Not true. I got banned from the game for a week for quitting/getting booted too much. I. Was. Pissed. It was my only account with gold at the time and Halo is the only game I like playing.

So I had to reform. I really pick and choose the games in which I quit now, and have found ways to cope with bad in-game situations, The system is fine. It should be a model for all multiplayer games on Xbox Live.

It's people like you who ruin my games.

So us playing the game ruins YOUR game.... your logic is some what of an idiot.

Yeah im kinda sick of those people.

Yeah ... was kinda stupid of krosbie to push that point when has quit game recorded himself. Stupid is as stupid does - lol.

But then again, looking back at the history of this thread there is plenty of links to quit games of yours (and plenty of your replies saying that your quits dont count).

Not sure if you are just trolling or just trying to get the number of posts up so 'your ego thread' can make it to the 'Top Forum Topics' list

Quits dont count when its getting lagged out, host booted, whole team quits before the game starts and it says DNF for everyone on both team or my xbox decides its had enough and dies mid game. Im not actually quitting, dashboarding, turning off my modem etc.

Its neither trolling or an ego thread. Quitting has and still is a big problem.

I never really played with the old or new Julia Gillard (gamertag change). The original was OK for someone who uses AL but the new Gillard sucks and I dubt ill ever be playing with him/her. I do play with The Red Menace though.

Well at least you had fun where most others would be raging.

Yeah, I wish I could play with you guys rather than against you just for the sake of having a good team, but it'll never happen, I'm just not good enough.

It's both.

You're quite transparent, but it's fun to play along.

So us playing the game ruins YOUR game.... your logic is some what of an idiot.

By "us", I'm assuming you mean people who team up with a bunch of good players and then go -blam!- unorganized randoms, then expects those randoms to stick around, since I was responding to the OP and that's the kind of person he is. How is that idiotic? That statement makes perfect sense. Certain players, even if they are playing the game as intended, can ruin my game. Easily.

If I'm on the team of the randoms, and the organized team wipes all of us out, then spawn-traps/kills all of us repeatedly... Believe it or not, that actually ruins my game. I don't care if you're playing the game as intended or not, you're ruining my experience. That's why I said I blame Bungie and 343. It's sad that I actually have to explain this. Stay in school, kid.

Hory shet this guy: http://www.bungie.net/Account/Profile.aspx?memberID=3138053 quits a lot.

What are your criteria for quitting a game? If a guy on the other team has alternating caps in his gamertag? You're like, 'OH HELL NAH,' *circuit breaker* just to be sure.

But yeah, I'm not even mad. Well played sir.

I QUIT MY 1ST GAME IN OVER A YEAR LAST NIGHT

Due to my whole team getting host booted by a bad kid named DeathClutchx17 http://www.bungie.net/stats/reach/default.aspx?player=DeathCl utchx17(He actually admitted it) for the 2nd time in 5 games.
Because he and his mates are horrible and we spawn killed them.

We were having a good game the 2nd game as they had a few good BTB players we know on the other team but he had to ruin it by booting everyone on my team except me and a friend of mine in the same house. I went into black screen with our team having 1 wraith, 1 revenant and there Wraith was dead but after black screen there are 2 wraiths and Revenants at our base already driven by good players, combine that with Lag and I wasnt going to stay to give them the satisfaction of spawn killing me. I must of got killed a few times in black screen as I only remember dieing twice. http://www.bungie.net/stats/reach/gamestats.aspx?gameid=87625 2982&player=Jamage007

That was mthe 2nd time that night he host booted my team but the 1st time he booted most of his team and we were already in a 20+ kill lead so that didnt work out so well for him.
http://www.bungie.net/stats/reach/gamestats.aspx?gameid=87623 0722&player=Jamage007

This is extremly low in my books. I have already filed a complaint along with the rest of the team he did it against.
What else can be done?

You could try moving on with your life.

DeathClutchx17 is now officially my favourite Halo Reach player.

I agree. I played a Slayer game on Asylum and all 3 of my teammates quit in the first 2 minutes making the game 1 vs. 4. I think quitters deserve a more severe punishment. http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/GameStats.aspx?gameid=87599 4830&player=InaneSkate57
I got killed 21 times and got a spread k/d spread of 0.

Fhtagn

quitters sure are a problem, but there's just no way bungie or 343 can stop that. If people want to get out of a game, they'll do it, whatever the sanctions are. I played Halo 3 recently, and there's about just as much quitters as in Reach. deal with it, people.

9/14/10 The fall of reach

I can agree that quitters are an issue and that more severe punishments should be enforced.

- They are put against more highly skilled players. But this isn't a matchmaking issue, and it's nothing that can be solved.

- Don't want to lose? Stop going it alone and gather a team; strength in numbers.

- Ten minute quit ban? It's really nothing for most players, I personally know a friend that quit a lot for numerous reaons, and it was nothing but continual 10-15 minute bans. It didn't bother him, in that time he would go make a sandwich or play a custom game.

- Bad connections? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can change your search restrictions to include only players with good connections. As for your own disconnections, you should be assured that nothing stands in the way of your own connection. Bandwidth hog? Too bad, you need to learn how to manage a network /rant

Here's what I think should be enforced:

- Longer quit bans: the more time that is left in that game, that many minutes is added to your temporary ban. Every time you quit within the same 24 hours you last quit, your temporary ban is doubled, then the multiplier is reset after those 24 hours.

- Set a number of quits allowed within the month, and if you pass that, you are either reset (this is pretty brutal) or cR banned; the latter being preferred.

- Lose credits. Maybe even lower your rank, similar to above.

What do you think?

Have you noticed though that you get almost no AFKers in games now?

It is because Bungie were so strict on the issue that people had to stop. So no matter how much they complain, it worked.

They need to take this positive and apply it to the the quit ban. I would suggest that you have to wait after every game that you quit. My proposal that the period you are banned from matchmaking is equal to the time left in the game you just quit + 5 minutes.
This would soon decrease the number of people quitting games and they might start playing properly. Especially people who quit at the very end of the game.
People will complain but in the end it will be for the good of the game

Thats another good idea.
They were a little harsh with the Afk thing but something does need to be done.

I agree, that is a good idear. Your earlier you quit, the more you are punished.

Funny story.
Now what would you say to someone crying such sorrows?
"What else can be done" ... take your own advice perhaps?
(your ego thread gets another step closer)

Your definatly one of the biggest morons on here.

Well when my xbox overheats and switches off mid game how can I be blamed for it.

What you linked has nothing to do with me, that guy is whinging about about the quit ban, ive never ever been on quit ban ever. Ive quit once due to my team getting host booted by someone on the other team and I would have stayed if it wasnt blatant cheating.

YOUR problem, fix your Xbox so you stop leaving games and ruining it for other players. Bungie and the Halo community hates you for disconnecting all the time.

Well that happened when I was in a full party of 8 and we were destroying. I think everyone was actually happy I left as more kills for my team and less -blam!- for the opposition.

How was I to know my barely over a year old Halo reach edition Slim 360 would overheat, not like it gives you a warning or anything.

Also im not whinging about being on quit ban as I have never had it before.

Thanks for the bump GGcBltch
When your teammate has host and quits because we are destroying you and it causes host change it doesn't mean we caused it, it means you and your team are bad and you need to get over it.

Funny. I've had the same old school clunky Xbox for years. There are ways you can take care to make sure it doesn't over heat. And if it's a new Slim, should be under warranty, so you can even get it fixed for free.

Your team mates will thank you.
