the reason that i haven't ranked up anymore in H3 is simple.
if im general and lose a single game, i will get about 20 messages asking me how much i paid for the 50 on ebay.
if im brigadier, i would get messages saying, cant get a 50, noob?

On kikowani station Mickey flies the phantom which i find weird, since in halo: Helljumper (http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Halo:_Helljumper) Dutch flies a phantom and learns pretty quick how to do it, and Mickey says himself that he haven't even runned a simulation for years but Buck doesn't seem to care about choosing the person who have more experience in flying a phantom.

any theories on why Mickey flew it and not Dutch?

Dutch didn't want to do anymore flying that day...

He already crashed once lolz.

Keep It Clean!

probably just didn't have too much experince, even if it was years ago he probably had a lot more training than Dutch (lest we forget: "Lord, I didn't train to be a pilot, please tell me don't have anymore flying to do today?").

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Wash... I mean Mickey, is the most experienced pilot in the squad.

Because Micky was voiced by Alan Tudyk, who played Wash (the pilot) on Firefly.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Because Mickey is awesome.

Plus game cannon overwrites book cannon every time. Could have been author mix up or what not.

Mickey is actually the squad's pilot. Before he became an ODST he flew Pelican Dropships.

Here is the halopedia page on Michael "Mickey" Crespo.

We Are The Meta.

If you see the squad vid doc for ODST told by Buck, it explains Mickey had Pelican and phantom flight training, which is more than the whole team put together. Even-though he tends to crash phantoms and prefers explosions over flying.

Also, Dutch hates flying, preferring vehicles/boots on the ground.
